  1. I'd be thinking £550 ish +VAT
  2. Bugger! i did not know that,my ms880 has them. Oh well saves me buying a new one.
  3. I have been with my insurer for around 12 years and they have never asked for my tickets, and i have clamed twice.
  4. It is NOT a legal requirement!
  5. I love those caps, may even change my 066 for a new one just to get those caps:icon14:
  6. If you don't have insurance, imo, you are a pikey or cowboy! The other stuff, to some extent,i agree
  7. I think saw was as much at fault as her, love the ppe!
  8. I think you have a point, but in real terms things are much cheeper than they were,so much stuff is made in the far east for a price. On the plus side i picked up a new ms200 on friday, and was assured by my dealer, who i trust implicitly, that the carb problems are now sorted:elefant:
  9. I love challenge, working out how to get it down or of a house safely, without causeing any further damage:alberteinstein:
  10. Very true!,I'm much the same, but i've used my local "stumpbuster"guy for about 10 years and trust him.
  11. I would just use "stumpbusters",they charge me less than they charge joe public,so you can put a bit on top,i have a small grinder for smaller jobs and get them in for the bigger ones, leave them to it and go make some money doing what i'm good at.
  12. I tend to find they don't mind waiting if you're dealing with trees that are dangerous. Also storm damage work tends to be more interesting than some other work, and pay better,so if i loose some of the other work thats life:wave:
  13. Its an ill wind that blows no one any good! Last Jan the wind brought me three weeks work in one night!
  14. Yes its radio remote and, like that guy,i take the remote up the tree, its much safer. His rig is awesome, unfortunately my crane is to small to take a fly jib,you could get that size of crane, but you would need a much bigger base vehicle than my trailer.
  15. Few pics of the crane on an Ash removal.
  16. My advice would be to start with as little gear as you can, only buy things when really can't manage without them. I started with a 16' Ifor Williams trailer and an Dihatsu F50, only bought a chipper when i was doing 5 days plus and knew the chipper was going to make me money.
  17. Please tell me where this legislation can be found?
  18. First i've heard of this, they have to have a medical every 5 years i think. There is bit of a difference between driving a truck and using a saw, we have create a safe zone to keep the public out, trucks and the public share the road.
  19. Do you have a link to this change in the law?
  20. Why would the hse not agree that he got his nptc before his driving licence?
  21. Required by who and under what circumstances? A very sweeping statement that requires some clarification imo.
