  1. Outrageous!!!! I would have moved the path and the pond, road, what ever needed to be move, then fenced off and retained the tree!!
  2. I got a Weaver few years ago, only used it a couple of times..................not good, IME, crushed my jacobs.
  3. As an implement, I think, small excess I think.
  4. We know from the pictures that there are at least three BETTER Oaks on site from which acorns can be sourced, the money saved from not moving the path and fence could have paid for the planting of thousands of them And I have not even started on that tree's "carbon footprint" from all the work, which could be contributing to a world where NO Oaks can live!!!!!!!!!!
  5. You need to read it again. It's called "sarcasm", the "failure" will claim success is down to luck as an excuse for their lack of success. I can see I am going to have to change it to something a little simpler. Maybe " I've been lucky, but its funny how the harder I worked the luckier I got"
  6. Calm down Tim!!, its only a forum Winning the argument does depend on the action taken, other wise no one would ever do any thing wrong, by your reasoning just doing something makes it right, what nonsense As for being forward thinking and investment in the future, the action taken here is all about trying to hang on to the past not the future.
  7. It would not be difficult to ask all staff members if they are happy to allow its use on them should the need arise and produce paper work for them to sign as evidence to this. Although I am not aware of any possible adverse affects.
  8. Not bad at all!! But funny looking Pop!
  9. The NFU are the BEST insurance Co I have ever dealt with. I had a claim, front mount chipper written off, happened Monday, there engineer was in my yard to assess Wednesday, cheque received in under three weeks.
  10. Very true, but which would you prefer 50% of £100 or 30% of £1000???
  11. I believe they do Mike, cattle love em, so much so that it can do them harm if they eat too many.
  12. I think this just requires a little common sense, if you are new to climbing I would recommend that you make use of the highest spec ppe available. If you have been climbing for over 10 years without ever cutting your trousers I don't feel its unreasonable to consider yourself experienced enough to use type "A"s.
  13. True, but if you keep to your LEGAL rear axle weight, your full before morning brew. With a single cab the front axle take some of the load allowing a much better pay load.
  14. I've never had one complain.
  15. :confused1: Err?? and when they drop?????:confused1:
  16. How very, very sad. Maybe we need to fell all our trees inorder for the public to enjoy them.
  17. Which at the moment are being eaten by the deer and the donkeys, expensive animal feed, IMO.
  18. That tree is, IMO, a MAGNIFICENT tree growing old gracefully, I would enjoy looking at that all day long. The cost of moving the benches and erecting the fence was worth every penny, and I would have happily have contributed to the cost of its retention of it if it were local to me The first tree which has fallen over looks awful to me and if I had to see it on a regular basis it would just make me sad. I think the fallen tree actually spoils the look of the other Oaks in the group.
  19. Here you go http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/picture-forum/1700-codit-branch-attachments-like.html
  20. Euthanasia has a place, IMO. Its a sorry looking sight.
  21. My negativity is based on what I feel is an obscene waist of money and effort, when ,IMO, the trees time has passed. I feel the same when I see old pet animals being kept alive, not for the animals benefit but because of the owners inability to accept the cycle of life and death. Its only my opinion and we all have one For what that has cost you could have planted literal thousands of trees.
  22. Thats fine then. If they wish to waist THEIR money good luck to them. I'm just so glad that the Victorians spent their money planting trees that we now enjoy, instead of waiting it trying to selfishly hang on to lost causes.
