The law says that if trees are causing a "genuine" nuisance, (this is a legal term and does not mean things like taking your light) the TPO can be ignored. I would say that a letter from the Highways stating they are causing "nuisance" is all you need. This is my understanding of the law, I could be wrong.

No, they can only go back one year for business rates, I know a guy how got planing for a barn conversion, they came for a look when he applied, he'd been running a timber milling business from it for years, they only made him pay for one year.

If you have been paying for waste water when you should not have been, they will only refund back one year, even if you have been over paying for 30 years. I don't see how any one could have not paid council tax you either you have a house or you don't?????

Thats what I did, it was a real PITA. They damaged the vehicle and did not tell me, put neat fuel in the hedge cutters, petrol in a diesel landy, took 4 hours to do a job I've been doing in 1.5 hours for years. Sent them to an emergency council call out, windblown Oak blocking residents drive, get a call from them, it need a crane etc and may not be do able, I get there took 4 hours start to finish with just a saw and chipper. Arriving late meaning I leave late. I now only have one lad with me.

No, thats the thing, if they had wanted to they could have nipped through the gate and taken it from there. They had picked it out the bin and carried it right down the side of the house?? All I can think is that Max (our GSD) was barking in the court yard and they maybe hoped he was on a chain, they could have taken the rubbish with them to block/distract him??? But the bag was just round the front, at the point they would have seen him and he them!!! I am hoping there is a scroat some wear with teeth marks in his arse!!! We are very careful with paper work, it all gets burnt.

Some time yesterday some one came into my garden, as you come into my garden we have two wheelie bins. Some one had taken a full bin bag out of the bin and had brought it round to the patio at the front of the house?? We have a large GSD and I wonder if they had brought the rubbish to try and keep him busy. Is this a common practice of the "THIEVING SCUM"?? Anyway it didn't work as nothing has been taken. Just seems weired

Perspective is the key, IMO!!!!!!!! My family mean more to me than any thing else, they are what gets me out there earning to give them the best standard of life I can. If I ever start to worry about what I would do if the phone stopped ringing, I just run through in my mind what I would do, IE start doing fire wood or sell some gear. I also count my blessings I have been blessed with 4 healthy children and have always had good health myself, and as a wise man once said "if you have your health you have everything". To be honest I used to get a bit stressed because of too much work, not being able to get to all the jobs when I said I would, but now I just make a few calls to put a few jobs back a bit and it fine

Yes, its just the H&S side of things, having lads in the yard cutting while I'm out the yard. And the inevitable call saying the tractor won't start or the pumps started making a noise and I've just noticed there is oil all over the floor:thumbdown:
