  5. Is this for real?????????? or a joke??????????
  6. Sorry no one has come back to you, I don't think many of the guys on here use shredders, I know I haven't. We use mainly chippers.
  7. I have two girls of my own mate, so I know how you feel. If you need any help just shout, I will raise a posse and head south!!!! My girls my want to come state side some time, so I may wish you to return the favour.
  8. "Bagging", "snap". Normally "a brew"
  9. I was getting £60 on line clearance 13 years ago, and one guy who only came in for shut downs was on £80.
  10. I was asked to just take it back to the main stem, the two large limbs on the left were joined together higher than I wanted to leave them, so I cut down the join to separate them and then cut lower. They are keeping it for habitat, they are hopping it will get some regen but it's not an issue if it doesn't. They did not want any coronets.
  11. It had been surveyed and condemned, bleeding cancer. Two days on the top, as the road was a nightmare. Less than a day craning Most timber rung up and left on site, one trailer load of bigger stuff taken up the road.
  12. Here are some pic's of a large Chestnut we reduced, well I say reduce we all but removed it only leaving the main stem. Big old tree around 200 years old, lots of timber. It was in a grave yard over loads of graves one side and a small road the other. All the brash was cut and chuck, timber removed with the crane. The mog is stripped down (no chipper or chip box) for the craning, as the access was really, really tight, but with the four way steering we got in OK. Sorry the pic's ain't great, camera phone.
  13. I would say its nearer 10 years Mike. I think the problem is that 10 years ago there were a lot less climbers.
  14. The idea that the self employed have more free time is something of a myth.
  15. You don't "have to" BUT, if something goes wrong on site and someone gets hurt, how do you PROVE you did a verbal??, which IS mandatory
  16. Spot on !! And if something goes wrong how do you prove you did a verbal ?? Written is safer
  17. Please be care full when using terms like "legislation" there is very little "legislation" that applies to our work. You ain't gonna get a policeman coming on site and arresting you for wearing the wrong pants or not having your NPTC. The "guidance" will however be seen as best practice by a judge, should something go badly wrong, and if you have employees (over whom you do LEGALLY have a "duty of care") and you have not followed current best practice, you could well find you have fallen foul of the law.
  18. Did you mean "banking"? or was that a typo?? .sorry:blushing:
  19. Mines the one in square brackets, if that helps mate, like these [0097000007].
  20. Yes but your only 3foot tall
