Thing is Mark, staying put is the correct thing to do in a tower block. People in this building where ringing 999 and being advised to stay in their flat and put towels at the bottom of doors. Apparently they are designed to compartmentalise the fire, so it does not spread. The fire service should fight the fire from inside the building. Someone has really cocked up here with the refurb:thumbdown:

Can't imagine anyone can have survived being trapped in there. Truly awful incident. I don't understand why we have such buildings, yet appear to have no equipment for dealing with such a blaze?

I remember when I was a lad my grandma had a problem with a fridge/freezer that was playing up. Can't remember if it had been moved. My uncle stud it upside down for a while. This apparently fixed the problem.

I don't think oil is your problem. It's the fluid that is evaporated to cause cooling that the problem, you may get an air lock in the system, I think, but I'm no expert.

Delays and cancelations are just part of normal business costs, just like breakdowns, ill health, etc, etc. It should be costed into your rates.

Probably none Tim, it does not fit with their narrative. People seem to think we are somehow an inherently rich country and that this wealth should simply be handed out to all. We are in fact a rich country because a lot of people have become rich while making the country rich in the process. If you put in place mechanisms that prevent the rich from being rich and getting richer, you remove the very mechanism that produces the wealth they want to distribute. If you don't believe this simply look around the world at countries that have tried it.

I think the whole idea of "hard" or "soft" brexit is a nonsense. There only brexit. We can't stay in the customs union without free movement, etc, etc. So we will be "Out, out", not just "out" as Micky Flanagan would say

I disagree. Cameron is a coward. He should have either stayed and seen through the decision of the referendum or not held it in the first place. May cocked up, but at least she is sticking around to deal with her own mess, rather than running off with her tail between her legs. Her mandate is weak, but its stronger than anyone else. If people run a race and no one reaches the finish line, surely the one who covered the greatest distance is the winner.
