  1. You've posted this before Rupe and while I know where your coming from, it only take some blood sucker to come onto site, throw themselves on the floor claiming they tripped over a twig and you can be in really deep water. These people exist, they over take you then slam on (having removed their brake light bulbs) and claim for whiplash.
  2. Why? IMO, thats just in your head.
  3. Legally you need nothing (unless you have staff or help of any kind thats under your direction, in which case you need EL) BUT if you cause damage or injury you are liable and could be sued for all you have and more.
  4. Big thanks to all concerned!!! Its great that in what are really quite financially tight times that so many are still able to help those unable to help themselves. I knew I had won the gloves (thanks Steve) from the live chat, but then my dogs escaped and I had to go get them and missed the end, so only found out about the split tail (thanks Justin) on this thread:thumbup:
  5. Sorry mate, yes "NOT something I would advise"
  6. Any one who manages to work with holding and cutting has my admiration!!!! Keep it up I say!!!! I do it a lot, but its not big and its not clever.
  7. I don't see how you can say that?????
  8. Whats so wrong with people wanting to keep their views?? I don't agree with people wanting a tree removing to gain a view they never had, but I can fully understand those who don't want trees to remove a view they have enjoyed for years. And as for councilors not wanting to upset rate payers, I should hope they don't!! They are supposed to be doing things for the benefit of the rate payers, thats their sole purpose!!!
  9. I think theres some stuff missing off that list mate.
  10. Slightly of topic, but does any one else find the new chains are more dangerous, as the extra raker material makes the saw more likely to skid along, instead of bighting in.
  11. No, its just a simple case of actions having consequences, whats that old saying "if you can't do the time, don't do the crime"
  12. Because insurance requires trust, if some one has a conviction for dishonesty, they are more likely to commit fraud. Insurers don't have to give any one insurance, they can chose who they wish to offer cover to and I think its quite likely that some one with a criminal record will pose a higher risk than some with out one.
  13. Is it a really nice looking lake????

    How Old

I think if you want to still climb at any age the secret is to just keep going, one of my favorite sayings is "you don't stop doing things because you get old, you get old because you stop doing things". On the radio a few weeks back, a BBC corespondent was interviewing some South American horse breakers, the oldest was 92!! and still breaking wild horses. She asked him what his secret was, his simple answer was "for gods sake don't stop"

  17. If your cut is good, you don't need to panic, it will sit there (obviously take care incase the wind drops and the tree goes where you first intended) just throw up a line and pull it over.
  18. Does he have a really big thumb????
  19. I went on one of those fancy scales the other day, that tells you your body fat% mines 21% 10 years ago it was 17%
  20. Yes and they are going undercover dressed as squirrels, so you never know if they are watching!!!
