  1. Scaffold poles are galvanized steel.
  2. Well I could see where my hands went and knew the chain was for cutting.
  3. I have never had any training in the use of saws. I started out felling dead Elms with a hired saw, often working in shorts and trainers. I've never cut my self. My farther used a saw for a large part of his adult life, felling and cutting for his own fire wood, he never had any training and never had an accident or even an incident. I'm not saying some people don't need training, but I don't think every one does.
  4. I agree that the 020t is much better than the old 020, IMO the handle was not good too grip and it was not in the middle of the top, so when held one handed the body of the saw too the right of the bar would be lower than the other side.
  5. Just do your trailer test.
  6. Yes, on mine the motor spline held up very well, but the insert in the rollers would wear. Entec supplied me with new inserts. Its very important that you get them in straight or you will wreck the motor.
  7. Sorry, just reread your post, your is the same machine as mine, so you should be able to do as I did.
  8. Is it a timberwolf? I had an entec (old name for timberwolf), back then (98-2000) you could get a new female splined insert. I got the worn ones removed and new ones welded in.
  9. My first climbing saw was a 1978 020AV. Aluminum predecessor to the 020t.
  10. Just remove the door seal or drill some holes in the door.
  11. Personally I would not poison Birch stumps, they tend not to copice IME, I would wait and only treat any growth that did come.
  12. Cheers:thumbup1: Sounds like they made decent money then, I was hopping to go but couldn't make it, I would have been gutted if they had been going for a song!!!
  13. No they aren't, U1300,1500,1700 and 2100 are all physically bigger than U1000,1200,1600. And my U1600 has a 245HP engine, so as powerful as a U2450, but mine will go through a 8' gate way unlike the bigger ones.
  14. How much did the tracked Jensen's make?
  15. I think you should be able to take an advanced driving test and if you pass (first time) you should get a gold star to stick too the back of your car which permits you to do 10mph above the limit on standard roads and 100mph on the mway. Also anyone who fails their driving test on the seconded attempt should never be allowed to drive.
  16. Very perceptive my friend!!!!! Although on this occasion I was on the white:thumbup1:
  17. Excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Its strange how some see overloading (up to 8 tonnes for a landy and trailer) as acceptable, but speeding not???
  19. 98 on the Mway is fine, I just wish all the muppets doing 70 would get out of my way!!!

    Boredom Tax?

    Which tractor?????????????
  21. I did a longer nearly two day course, which also involved going out driving with an advanced driving instructor. It cost £145 (8 or 9 years ago) but it was that or being done for "Driving without due care", so a bargain really. The scariest think was the appalling driving of one of the other attendees.
  22. TBH, I find that often the most rewarding jobs I do are the ones that I don't really fancy and if I had the option I would skip, but once started I get into it and they usually go much better than anticipated.
  23. Any client, (councils and the like) can make it a mandatory requirement, to comply with their own H&S policy I have had discussions with some on this mater, but up to now I have won the argument, so my 15 year old tickets have been enough
  24. The HSE recommend refreshers, but they are not mandatory.
