  1. The "Fairy steps" rack wants cutting of too!!!!!!!
  2. Thats a nice truck, just a shame about the "puff basket", but if you took that off and fitted a nice little Hiab it would be great
  3. Good news!!! Nice to be home for the new year!!!
  4. If the chip starts falling over the tail board your 3.5t pickup is more that a little overloaded:sneaky2: You can simply increase the hight of the tail board. A block of timber popped under the bed when its up removes the risk.
  5. I think the poorer the fuel, i.e. green chip, the bigger the boiler needs to be, a really big fire will burn pretty much any thing. Small ones tend to be pellets not chip, as pellets are a very good very constant and very dry fuel. But their not free or cheap.
  6. You can burn wood in a smokeless zone. Dry wood on a hot fire makes no smoke, plus approved stoves re-burn the smoke.
  7. You guys with crew cabs do you not find your cabs stink of fuel?????

    BT lines

How can working round them "not be an option"???
  9. Thats called selling yourself, you clearly inspired confidence, nice one
  10. With you there, yes I don't think they would have prevented the tare, but would have kept the crap out
  11. They have only been advertising on the site for a few weeks, maybe next year??? fingers crossed!!!lol!!
  12. Burning treated wood is not good, but in the grand scheme of things I'm not sure its such a big deal. Often if this wood was not burned on a stove (generating heat and reducing the amount of gas or coal being burned) it would be burned anyway out side just to get rid of it. How much treated timber is burned around November the 5th? and all that heat is just wasted.
  13. Do you really think gloves would have helped that much????
  14. I would have advised him to put the fuel in his car and then give his details to the person on the till promising to send payment. How did he know his card did not work without having put the fuel in already and tried to pay:sneaky2:
  15. You need to transfer it to another vehicle or a retention certificate, this needs doing before the MOT runs out, as without an MOT on the vehicle you cannot transfer the number.
  16. You don't need it indepedently inspecting until its 6 months old.
  17. And what happens when the saw arrives back at the sellers and he starts it with ease due to greater experience. Saws are not like electrical items that can simple be switched on. I think the buyer should at least find out if the inability to get it running is the fault of the saw.
  18. I just wonder if the odd mature trees that don't get DED have thiner cambium, there are a few decent sized ones near me that are healthy, right next to ones that have died.
  19. I recon its down to cambium thickness not bark roughness.
  20. I'm not sure that burning the timber was ever required, the bark was stripped and burnt on site and back then most brash was burnt on site anyway (before the chipper).
  21. I reckon you would get no jobs to quote if you charged, no matter how small the charge. I would never pay a contractor to come and quote for me. Some people even go to the point of paying for the customers call, with an 0800 number, this I would never do, if the customer is too tight to pay for a call I don't really want them as a customer.
  22. Looks like one of those trees that would be great fun getting down, but the clear up would be awful.
