  1. If you see advice given that is wrong why do you not correcting them, giving a link to your information if you have one. This is a discussion forum, most things come down to opinion, not fact or legislation.
  2. I bet you wish you had put £400 in, she would have still been delighted!!!!!
  3. Not when its a hedge made up of "shrubs" not trees
  4. That contains no information on conservation areas. I think you are confusing "English Heritage", with "Natural England" and "National Parks" with "Conservation Areas".
  5. Who said it was a big deal:confused1: It was you who said it was a "minefield", not me. As your quote says "trees" not shrubs
  6. Where are you getting this from?? You seem very confused, conservation areas are about maintaing the character of an area, it includes walls, buildings, street furniture, etc, etc. You need permission for conservatories a to change the external colour of your house etc. You do need "permission" to carry out tree work, you must give the council notice of your intention to carry out tree works, the council can then place TPO on the tree, you would then need to apply to carry out the work. The fines are TPO fines, if you fell a tree in a CA without notification the tree is treated as though it was TPO'd.
  7. Very unprofessional to get into a slanging match with them IMO. When they turned nasty I would have just walked away.
  8. Must be nice to have £350K!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. I think you are getting confused with SSSI's or something, not conservation areas
  10. You are separating TPO's and conservation areas, but as Tony pointed out in an earlier post the councils only way of stopping you from carrying out tree works in a conservation area is to put a TPO on the trees concerned, so there really is no difference.
  11. The crane should have legs, so there should be no need to lock the suspension. As for lifting the suspension, if the crane is so heavy that its bottoming the suspension, I would be worried about your front hubs, if it were me I'd try and keep the weight of the crane under 900Kg.
  12. No. Which is what I said from the beginning, because its a shrub
  13. Yes you can. Just think about possible prosecution, are they really going to prosecute for trimming a hedge??
  14. IMO its better to let others judge that, most idiots don't think they are one.
  15. True, but there are quite a lot of things to pay for, school, hospitals, police, roads, etc, etc, etc.
  16. Expenditure, yes, but what about revenue?? If they got of their back sides and worked they would be paying tax, paying in, instead of taking out!!!
  17. Not really start at 14 can be done with ease. Many of those over £26K are over because of where they live and the rent they pay (sorry we pay ) they need to move. There was one family getting £96K PA rent payed for them.
