  1. I've lost the odd hook, normally by banging them against something hard or getting them hooked together when switching feet in tight crotches. Fortunately its only ever been one hook on its own, so can simply be skipped when lacing.
  2. The container is 35ft long, but there is a movable insulated partition that can be used to shorten the internal area being heated. I'm using a 90KW wood gasification boiler to run the 30KW blower, this boiler also heats my home. I'm only just started to play with it, so don't know how long it will take to dry different sized loads.
  3. All I've worn for the past 10 or more years, I must be on my 10th pair now.
  4. No doubt my accountant will have it covered I think I'm maybe thinking of the employed who also fill out a return.
  5. Can you claim that against tax, I think you can't.
  6. Faith is "complete trust or confidence in someone or something" you don't need to feel that way about scientific understanding, you can simply accept current understanding as it makes sense, but be happy to accept changes as they come along and make more sense. Having spent the first 30 years of my life in a strict religious community I feel most people of faith believe because they want, maybe even need to believe. Many can't face the realities of life, they need a narrative that gives it meaning and a point.
  7. You don't need faith to accept current scientific understanding or to simply say you don't know all the facts. Where faith comes in is when you start believing in things that are clearly contrary to known facts.
  8. I'm guessing your a fairly small guy????????????????????
  9. For every machine there are lovers and haters. I have a Disco 3, had it for 8 years, its done over 100K miles, its been great, we love it, but many hate them. Same goes for my Mog. No one has a monopoly on good advice, we each speak form our own experience, but that experiences varies greatly
  10. Most of our trees have evolved to lose their leaves before the windy winter period, ivy reverses this situation, so is not great in situations where there are targets. Ivy is good habitat, but if you cut it and leave it to die, any nesting creatures will have ample time to move before it starts falling off. My advice would be to just cut a good gap in the ivy at the base of the tree.
  11. I take your point. The problem with all these situations is we will never know the whole story. The guy was HUGE, I guess the cops were real scared, did they use to much force? obviously they did, as he died, did they intend to use to much force? we will never know. Its a very sad situation and for all I know the officers involved may be distraught about what happened. Its a great piece of art, artists are inspired and go make art, they are not required to be fair and cover all angles, they simple make the things they feel moved to make. We should not, IMO, try to hold them to account in any way
  12. Sorry you've lost me there I've tried googling "lascom data logger", but got no where. I get what you mean about weighing a sample log, thats a great idea and something I will start doing
  13. Don't know yet, its only been running for just under a week. It gets real hot, feels like sauna. I need to get a thermometer in there and a moisture meter to check how fast the logs are loosing water.
  14. Would this have been better in the Landscaping forum???

    Arbbay!?

Word!!! FB is pretty poor, IMO.
  16. My Kiln is up and running, its a very well insulated container with a 30KW convector fan and a movable insulated partition. So I stack the timber near the blower and move the partition up to create a room no bigger than needed. It gets very, very hot in there and is drying the timber pretty well, but I would like to reduce humidity. I don't want to simply vent the air, as it will waste a huge amount of heat. I would like to suck air from the top of the kiln, remove some moisture and then reintroduce the air at the rear of the blower. What products are best for trapping the moisture?? all help gratefully received
  17. What makes you think I won't??????
  18. Do you mean the "Chat room"??? The lounge is just another form and should take no time to down load.
  19. I did 18 years on a prussic, tried the spider jack, it was ok, but not great, got a Zigzag and love it!!!!!! been using one for a few years now, its great, IMO.
  20. Are you taking the piss???? . Sorry couldn't resist
  21. If everyone took that attitude it would be a pretty crap forum, IMO.
