  1. That was in Leeds, about 13 or 14 years ago, before she had the bigger engine fitted and bonnet change
  2. He, like me does not live on a street.
  3. Ah!! thats where I win then, I keep my good lady in the home caring for our family Makes my life easier as I concentrate on earning a living and she keep us all (me and 4 children) very well cared for and the house in great shape. IMO, all this women's lib and equality business is not heathy, two wage slaves and children fending for themselves. But this is of cause only our preferred lifestyle
  4. Depends where you live, not sure many would appreciate one outside their house or even on next doors drive.
  5. After 25+ years I think mines got a fair idea
  6. Is Valentines day not about declaring or hinting at feelings for someone who does not know how you feel???
  7. Deer or some other animal, I think.
  8. When you quoted the job did you not look at the logs he wanted cut or at least say you were happy to cut up clean logs, but would not cut dirty wood. Managing customer expectations is a very important part of business, IMO.
  9. Are you suggesting that you can't have a healthy mind without meditation?? Do some do it with even knowing they are???
  10. Many years ago I was talking to a farmer, he held up his hand and pointed to each of his fingers, saying this one is the banker, this one the tax man, this one solicitors, this one the HSE, he then pointed to his thumb and said this is me, I have to work hard enough to carry all these suits. I could very much see his point.
  11. No, they would have just got on an done it. Give people easy options and they will take them. Look a lost days due to illness, according to the figures being self employed must be extremely good for your health Look at the benefits cuts, suddenly people can find a job or start a business
  12. This however does not mean a replacement tree is all that's required, trees in a CA have the same protection as a TPO'd tree, so felling without notice could lead to prosecution and a heavy fine.
  13. Yes, BUT proving it was definitively dead could be an issue, by submitting notice you are giving the LA an opportunity go see for themselves, if the chose not to I feel you would not have the same burden of proof after the event.
  14. Not for removing dead wood, removing a dead tree yes, but not dead branches form a retained tree.
  15. In 20 years of trading I think I've worked for maybe 10 farmers, they don't often pay people to do something they can bodge themselves, IME.
  16. You don't need much room if your good at putting stuff where you want it
  17. You keep saying this, but I really don't get it??? I have worked in a two man team for many, many years, lowering would slow things down dramatically. I cut and chuck virtually every tree, brash and timber separated in the tree, groundie chips brash or puts timber on trailer or in a pile to be lifted with grab, what could be quicker???
  18. Fair enough, but its a shame as that would have been an ideal starting point.
  19. I point out to my wife that the sawdust is a good thing, theres no way I could have an affair, well not with a married woman any way:biggrin:
