  1. Except BBL's are "2.5% fixed rate" I know lots of people keep saying its above base, but it's not. Sometimes wonder where people get their info from and if they even read paper work before they sign it?
  2. The way I see it is the banks are the only ones loosing out due to BBL's. They were asked to help businesses that were struggling due to covid, the government offered to stand 80% warrantee for the loans. The banks dragged their feet, offered very poor terms and were very picky about who they would lend too. So the government stepped up and offered these BBL's, if loads of people take them. settle their existing finance, pay nothing for 12months, then lower payments for the 6 years, they are in a better position to ride out the inevitable recession. The banks are going to loose millions in interest, but servers the right!
  3. But the criteria for getting the loan was not “life changing” affects of covid. I’m sorry you are being hit badly, but don’t see why you begrudge other working lads getting a leg up for once? It not like there is a limit on the loans and others getting them impacts on you.
  4. When I applied it said you could not buy new assets, unless replacing and existing asset. No mention that you could not repay other finance, intact it stated that if you had already agreed with the lender that you were settling existing finance, the balance of the bbl would paying into your account not the full amount.
  5. I have worked right through, but 2 jobs have been canceled/postponed, which is negative.
  6. You have to have been 'negatively' impacted by covid, don't think there will be many who haven't been.
  7. No it states that is paid "directly to the lender"
  8. IME, "The harder I work, the luckier I get"
  9. FFS man wake up! Obama set up a whole agency to prepare for future pandemics! Who do you think dismantled it?
  10. I think the real clincher will be how fast normality bounces back, if the economy jumps back pretty quickly we should be OK, but a long lock down and then a very slow return to normality will take some surviving, IMO. Fingers crossed.
  11. I'd possibly be interested. I enjoy working on old Limes, they respond so well to being cut back.
  12. Are they going accept returns 9 months early? I know whey are allowing those who should has submitted in jan up to 4 weeks to get them in and thus qualify for the help, but did not know they had offered to give tax rebates months in advance? My bother tried to delay his July tax payment, due to being well in credit due to cis, but they said “No”, but that was back in feb.
  13. Is there no longer a £100 penalty for filing late?
  14. Why now rather than January?
  15. Surely right now its about limiting the size of the financial hole we dig, not cover every cost?
  16. Arborisk are a broker, I was with Aviva via them, is your saw cover new for old?
  17. OR is it better that we the professionals keep going, thus reducing the chances of Joe Blogs having ago himself??
  18. Did you spot that Arborisk no longer offer "new for old" on saws etc? This lead me to taking my business elsewhere.
  19. Pretty standard, in my experience. Its not possible to know what your turnover will be at the beginning of the year and really a dramatic rise in turnover usually reflects an increase in work done and thus and increase in the risk of a claim. Motor cover often has an annual milage amount, which if exceeded can lead to eye watering costs.
  20. My son and I traveled to site this morning, when we left the yard it was dry, but as we reached site it was raining and reasonably windy. I discussed the situation with my son and then the customer (at a distance of about 5M) It was decided that we would give it a miss and work tomorrow and Saturday. Wind and rain increase the risk of accident and injury. I am trying to walk the line between keeping going and avoiding any increased risk of calling on an already stretched NHS.
  21. Please post a link to this official directive?
  22. Were you paying yourself by means of a tax free loan?
  23. When you cough you spray WATER droplets. If it were AIR borne, 2M distance would do FA, just being in the same room as someone would be enough for you to catch it.
  24. China was advanced long before we were, they have had more than enough time to get their act together, We may have had a major impact on many undeveloped countries in the past, for good and ill I would argue, but China ain't one of them.
