  1. I've been hear a long time I don't post like I used to
  2. You french boys have far to much time on your hands, it kinda creeps me out
  3. Simply turn the stove down. I've also found that cutting the logs larger also slows them down, the heat from dry logs is quite surprising
  4. I think most people who buy kiln dried, buy small amounts and don't store outside or for long enough to become damp.
  5. My accountant reckons the flat rate scheme saves me £800 per year, plus there is less room for error, so there is no real risk of cocking up.
  6. How much Pop, Willow and softwood do you sell?
  7. I would say £30K to £50K
  8. No shortage around here as far as I can see. If there was the shortage you speak of why are rates still so low?
  9. Speeding up the rollers may increase chip size.
  10. What about sticking a drawbar and axel on the chipper?
  11. You need to rev the engine a little harder for staters, but realistically you will need to add a blower if you want to be able to chip conifer and blow it into the mog body. Yes you will need to use a reversing gear box. IMO you would be better buying a purpose built front mount, I've wasted a good amount of time and money messing about trying to get the wrong chipper to do the job.
  12. Yes they are very good, but quite expensive. I'm think more of simply a screw type cone that fits directly onto the crane rotator.
  13. These are both things I buy in bulk and store. Is your dealer very near you? I only visit my dealer every 3 to 6 months. I buy fuel 3 or 4 times a week.
  14. I've been wondering about getting a cone splitter that fits onto a crane rotator. Are they any good? How much force will a 3T rotator have? Would a larger rotator be better? Its a cheap way of reducing timber down, if it works.
  15. I personally don't see unnecessarily wasting money on "magic bean" fuel as very smart, but as I say thats just my opinion.
  16. Is that simply down to ethanol or does crap chinese manufacture play a part Why does is my 1994 honda quad run without issue, it's only ever seen standard pump fuel and often stands for months without use.
  17. Better still, do both
  18. There should really be "red petrol" the government must get a HUGE amount of duty on fuel used for lawnmower, off road bikes, boats, generators, etc, etc, etc. Its not simply two stokes, many, many none road going machines use neat petrol. I don't see how they could ever exempt aspen without allowing other oil Co's from also offering a none road fuel, be that pre mix or not.
  19. You need to start working harder
  20. Is that even legal? and has it been tested in court?, "not fit for purpose" springs to mind. Does the operators manual stipulate that pump fuel cannot be used? I have several honda engines, all of which have only ever seen pump fuel (one a 1994 quad) they all run without issue and virtually no servicing.
  21. There is no irony, as we pay road fuel duty on standard fuel, so if it was cut for Aspen ,they would have to offer standard petrol for none road use also without duty, so the price difference would remain.
  22. I get years out of my saws, many, many years and even if aspen extended there lives the extra cost of the fuel would be greater that the reduced cost in replacement saws. Plus new saws are more fun than expensive fuel It just don't add up, IMO, plus I simply could not be arsed with buying my fuel in from one supplier, plus the storage, etc, etc. You baulk at the thoughts of filtering fuel, but are happy to jump through the hoops of buying from once source and storing highly flammable liquid. Have you had to increase your insurance cover? or do they simply not know?
  23. Another indecipherable thread with the same pictures of a crapy Willow. Is there a reason this nonsense cannot be confined to one thread?
