  1. malt loaf! mate of mine who went for SAS selction swears by them. he would munch one whilst arrying 50lb up pen ye fan in wales.Keep him going like the duracell bunny.
  2. my apolgise to you all:sad: i did not want to come across as a know it all..because i dont far from it. i know its a long way up a ladder and i know i got a long way to go. its just the cost of training, with money tight for us all of course im going to try and get some cheaper training...the worlds ruled by money is it not..sadly. kevin i will email you thanks and sorry again.

  4. many thanks Jim. Dont mind you airing your veiw mate.. NPTC is good dont get me wrong. Just dont see why i need to fork out on expense when i know i can do something. i agree tickets are needed, but you need to get stuck in and learn on the job as well as train. if i was a guy with no common sense and lack of counceintious regards jobs and work then yes dont do it without tickets..but im not..im a perfectionist and am highly counceintious when it comes to doing tree work correctly. i think if your knowledgable and able and want to do a good job you can tickets or not. I still want to get all my tickets to gain public acceptance and quality. thanks for the explantions Jim.

  6. Ive alocated a day a week to go climbing in the same place as my old college class. Im training for my ariel rescue. Im practicing in the area of my tutors but not by them. Im not on the college course. So i need to find out what the techniques are. We did one today rescue with two ropes and two friction knots. can anyone direct me to any info on the rest of the techniques?website , books ecte.(got the nptc assment scedule). After learning to climb and use a saw in a tree for a year i dont want to spend £500 on a 5 day course to learn what i already can do i.e climb trees and use a saw.Just that im not happy at spending money on something ive had training on and just lack a few things.

  14. There genreal business insurance dealing witha little bit of arb. They cant seem to sort out a direct debit and keep sending me letters that my policy is cancelled!i wrung them early tonight and spoke to John Smith (yes i know) the finnace manger and complained. Hopefully get it sorted tommorrow!better do or im going elsewere:mad1:

  20. used the same rope , just the other end..i didnt do it but my old instructor showed us it with another old student freind of mine.
