  1. i was in your same poistion 4 years back nuggsy. i moved to Suffolk from berkshire 2 and half hours drive from my daughter. There was a little bit off "daddies moved away because he dont love me" from my daughter but she is ok now...we have her up here and i see her down in berkshire evry few weeks. just keep seeing your son , ring him send him cards and keep telling him you love him loads and tell him your moving because you need work not because you dont want him...kids do understand more than we think..even young ones. good luck.

  4. got my stein helmet today , many thanks fletcher stewart and Steve for chasing it up for me. all i need is a flying suit and some RAF wings...looks like im ready to fly jets with the dark visor down...love it!
  5. Hi jason, just noticed you joined here. thanks for looking at my rope last week , went climbing on it sunday and am still alive. i worry to much i think. Hope your all well and the kids too.

  9. Got told today i have a week left with my current employer. I have been temping (non arb work) for two years and today they told me i got another week then they have to let me go. Trying to start a new bussiness in tree work is sucide at the moment as i have found after leaving college, so i am back looking for work in tree work / gardening work in Suffolk. Anyone need a groundie/ trainee climber. I got my own saw and climbing kit. have Cs30/31 and 38 and six months expereince. BTEC in Arb and woodland managment both distinctions,Hard working with own transport. Thanks for reading, any takers PM me. Cerne.

  11. Whey you learnt how to post Steve. Nice to see you on here burr. Andy said almost what i said but better and more in depth....dont think he can ask for much more than you spending time with him for a few years wrather than buggering off straight after training.

  15. Not to old at all. I started when i was 40... and still going... i ache a bit after work but love it and can keep up with the younger lads.

Hi dave, Im 40 and only started doing this job this year (partime at the moment)...21 you got the rest of your life to do this. get to a training course and do NPTC 30,31 and 38 to get you started. Thats chainsaw use maintence, cross cutting , small tree felling , tree climbing and rescue..i think theses are the basics. I cant comment about the rest i dont feel expereinced enough to comment on them..but get with a company that have health and saftey on their agenda. good luck.
  20. Im with Dean david:001_tongue: Would have started a bonfire it was cold on two days..me hands froze in the morning. When we started work the blood started pumping to them again to warm them up. David it was Langham hall...know it?
