  1. Bloke doesn't have a machine though does he? The more you move stuff the less profit you make, blokey is there to cut rings and he can only use the gear onsite.
  2. Can you not just ring up on that stack? Then push the rounds off with the telehandler?
  3. This sort of thing has definitely been more prevalent this year. Especially on the bigger jobs.
  4. Speak for yourself you absolute minstrel.
  5. Can you tell my skin colour from text? Amazing.
  6. But if she has lived in the UK all her life ,why not get a UK passport? Bloody foreigners all want it their own way.
  7. UK immigration law is not piss weak. My Grand Father flew a Hurricane in the battle of Britain and me, his Grandson a New Zealander gets the 9th degree each time I visit the UK....
  8. Pretty hard to do as you are selling a job. 20% of turnover 50% of one years profit Trade price on all the kit. This is what I was looking at a few years ago. If you really want it gone, talk directly to some local companies on what they might be prepared to pay.Its a hard conversation to have, especially when someone will gain a percentage of your market share for free if no one buys your outfit.
  9. I really like the bike, although as its my first propper bike I dont have much to compare it to. I would like a wider seat because it hurts my arse, handlebar risers and lowered pegs. All of the above only really comes into play on long rides, not blatting about locally which is what I do the most of.
  10. Did 8 hours on this today. From one side of Norway to the other.
  11. Option 1 It wont likely die from your intended works, take the money and move on to the next job.
  12. Thing is, if its just locals in a scenic place. They leave because of shite wages as only locals live there. Scenery and job prospects seldom go hand in hand.
  13. Best thing about working in NZ ,will be gaining the contacts to move to Aus in order to earn twice as much. Tree work in NZ is a mugs game frankly.
  14. Every now and again a saw comes along that is just perfect for its role,in the past they were in my opinion. 020T 026 044 066 I think that today the 400 is the 044 of old.Its just a cracking saw that fill's its role perfectly.I hardly ever use my 500 or 441s any more.I felt that the 500 was a solution looking for a problem,to big to be really flicky and to small to run a propper bar on.
  15. Least he hadn't used any " David Brown!". Oh is that my coat?
  16. Ok interesting. What sort of tonnage would be considered a good day in a cable logging job?
  17. Are you paid by the day rate? Do you get an allowance to run your own saw or is that and the fuel built into the day rate?
  18. How do you measure the volume of wood pulled up the hill onto the landing? In tonn or cubic meters? How much are you pulling in a day do you know?
  19. I don't think it would mate,if you draft some little chav from "chav manor" then beat him untill he is responsible and give him a gun. You are only going to create a more savvy chav who returns to chav-land with more skills he can use for nefarious purposes. Society in alot of the UK is made up of "takers" ,generations of people who the concept of giving is foreign and probably couldnt find the UK on an unlabled Atlas, even if they could read. Its actually not alot different in Norway, there is a huge amount of social dependency its just that the spoon is so gilded that you dont see them hanging about like you do in the UK.
  20. Chuck out all the darkies. Oh I ment celebrate diversity,so easy to confuse the two.
  21. Tree work is quite a hard job and New Zealander's quite a rough bunch. Are you sure about all this?
  22. Then you already have reduced your rate surely?
  23. Lay off some staff and try to keep your prices at the same rate. If that dosnt work reduce your rate, should that not work either sell off the kit you are not using. Sounds like there is an oversupply in the UK, reminds me of 2008 but I think its going to get alot worse. I am free hold with lots of spicy kit, I like to dance but allways knew the music was going to stop.
  24. I thought they got paid in tattoo's? And stickers.
