  1. I have flown with saws both new and used plenty of times. Drain tanks, protect bucking spikes, check in as normal luggage. End of.
  2. America win the "Space Race" after something is won,why do it again? Anyhow America was busy doing advanced landscaping in Vietnam at the time which cost huge amounts of money.
  3. Yes
  4. Decent Ash in a carpark. Chip down the bank, client keeps the wood. All done in 4 hours including lunch.
  5. It's originally an Ambulance box from a Gelandervagon. Made by Zeppelin,it's a beautiful peice of German construction quite literally made to survive a Nuclear war. I eat lunch in it.
  6. Gave these two a clean, doing a bit of work on the Mog for the winter.
  7. I am not sure what valve block you have,on mine you can remove the adjuster knob, then get a spanner on the end of the adjuster barrel and unscrew it. From memory there is a O ring and then the flow rate plunger just comes out, there might be a spring on the end of that I think? Anyhow it sounds like your adjuster is wide open so have a look into the cause of that. On the valve block end of the plunger is a poppet ,it should be shut when its removed. Its been ages since I had trouble with mine. If you get stuck just open a Haynes Land Rover Service manual and say "Khris,Khris,Khris"three times whilst holding a AF spanner in each had. He will appear like magic from your toolbox in a puff of Purple smoke. Be warned though, the only way to get him back into your toolbox is to turn every motorised object you own upside down for one lunar cycle.
  8. Just make sure the knob is actually turning the spindle on the valve block. Take it off and try turning the spindle with pliers
  9. At your age the ship has sailed unfortunately. Unless you can get sponsored directly and thats pretty hard to do, unless you have a special skill set that precludes locals into the role. Canadians used to get sponsored to run Swing Yarders when they first came out in NZ for example.
  10. No that's a wives tale about the blanket. Same as that chainsaw trousers stop .22 LR. It takes trousers folded x5 to stop a .22
  11. Probably. +P 45 ACP isn't very hot. Given that a regular .45 Acp travels at the speed of a .177 Air Rifle pellet fired from a BSA Meteor.
  12. Johnson D is very close,he got the caliber right. This was originally chambered in .455 Webley but that the cylinder shaved to accept moon clips in 45 ACP. https://www.americanrifleman.org/content/this-old-gun-smith-wesson-455-hand-ejector/
  13. Hard question to answer. 60 round series with a 606 point possible ,national ranked shooters would be in the high 580s. I didn't pay much attention to what the averages were, shooting is mostly mental so you don't look down the board. Most shots into a 2cm bullseye at 25m.
  14. 25m/50m are standard distances
  15. Trip to the range, home cast powder coated projectiles a mate cast. Shame pistols are so hard to access for Brits, this one was bought by the UK government from the states during the first World war.
  16. " You can see my house from here" * photo approved for general release by the government *
  17. Haha You are a fake not a very convincing one either. On to ignore you go.
  18. I think you are enjoying this attention,I also suspect you are a previous member here who has come back to cause trouble. Post some pictures of your work please, let's see what your basing your opinion on.
  19. How to state " I have no big tree rigging experience " by just using more words. GCRS is magnificent in the right place with the right guys.Been using mine for 15 years.
  20. So they could learn on the other side of the road and get into the habit of angling the blade the wrong way thus flinging tones of snow into on coming traffic? Yeah nah.
  21. To be honest you could have made a better job on that stump,he could have been less of a twit. I get a incident like this every now and again. Sometimes it's because I didn't manage expectations, sometimes I didn't do as good a job as I could have, other times the client was a bellend who never intended to pay all along.. I am surprised that with your 30 years in the game you simply haven't learned how to deal with people like this? Take the course of least resistance in order for you to get paid. Put this behind you and have a nice Christmas. On a somewhat similar note,I had a call from a client last night querying my invoice. Instead of me taking the wood away ,her neighbour decided to have it. I declined transporting it 100m to her neighbours for free but we agreed with the client I would cut it up for them onsite. She wanted a discount because " I hadn't bothered to take the wood away". I simply should have changed the written quote to list the new details and had her sign it but I assumed she would be reasonable. My fault, let's see if she pays.
  22. TL Taper lock?
  23. Sounds like a Kohler air cooled V twin? Engines are still available as well as parts. What was the basis for their condemnation of the engine?
  24. This is Carl. My ex wife took him when she moved out. Really miss the cat.
  25. I dont think thats coming back.I hope I am wrong by I thought Japanese Maples were pretty delicate. He could have made a very costly mistake. I once did a quote to replace a Holly of about that size, the quote came to £60K. Something to bear in mind.
