  1. Are you paid by the day rate? Do you get an allowance to run your own saw or is that and the fuel built into the day rate?
  2. How do you measure the volume of wood pulled up the hill onto the landing? In tonn or cubic meters? How much are you pulling in a day do you know?
  3. I don't think it would mate,if you draft some little chav from "chav manor" then beat him untill he is responsible and give him a gun. You are only going to create a more savvy chav who returns to chav-land with more skills he can use for nefarious purposes. Society in alot of the UK is made up of "takers" ,generations of people who the concept of giving is foreign and probably couldnt find the UK on an unlabled Atlas, even if they could read. Its actually not alot different in Norway, there is a huge amount of social dependency its just that the spoon is so gilded that you dont see them hanging about like you do in the UK.
  4. Chuck out all the darkies. Oh I ment celebrate diversity,so easy to confuse the two.
  5. Tree work is quite a hard job and New Zealander's quite a rough bunch. Are you sure about all this?
  6. Then you already have reduced your rate surely?
  7. Lay off some staff and try to keep your prices at the same rate. If that dosnt work reduce your rate, should that not work either sell off the kit you are not using. Sounds like there is an oversupply in the UK, reminds me of 2008 but I think its going to get alot worse. I am free hold with lots of spicy kit, I like to dance but allways knew the music was going to stop.
  8. I thought they got paid in tattoo's? And stickers.
  9. I did the travelling Arborist thing for about 8 years on and off. Two winters in Germany, a summer in Canada a Winter there too., three in Alaska , England, Norway, New Zealand as well as plenty of travelling in between. As your skills grow you will learn how to position yourself in the market and what to charge. " Arborists" never make the really good coin, its the guys that can get the big stuff down fast day after day and keep the damage to a minimum. You won't really learn big tree wrecking in Europe. Its all there waiting for you, I made the right idea to save what I could and that ment I could drop a big wedge on starting a company with alk the right kit from the get go.
  10. Might be a guy in Mendip?
  11. I think alot of Swede's realise that they have now to help carry the can to keep Putin in his box. The Swedes have enjoyed their ( almost) neutrality whilst others have done the fighting, also the fact that the Swedes have run down their forces to the absolute minimum means they really need some friends in the region. Sweden used to make pretty much all their own kit, from packs to fighter planes .
  12. If she was anything like Jacinda Arden, then probably continued working in a Chippy.
  13. Those boors with the triconis will be hopeless on anything other than rock. The mud forms an almost instant second sole that falls off repeatedly. Spiked soles with a couple of triconis on the edges are really good. Remember to get a propper tool to use replacing the spikes, golf shoe tools are a bit soft. I wore these for years. 14. One of my Grandads was an Aircraft mechanic/ Pilot during the war. He travelled to the UK in 1939 as some of his mates in the New Zealand reserves wanted in on the action. After attaching to the RAF he was transfered to the RNZAF in the Pacific then to the American's. He was in the Victory parade in London. Anyhow one of his mates gave him a spanner from George Gibsons Lancaster. It was rattling around in the wheel well and its all worn down on one side. His mate stamped it with his name and some other numbers but it been years since I have seen it last.
  15. I think its very nice of your King Charles to bestow Scotland the gift of this new Electricity project. Imagine the jobs it will create.

Give them a call or Email them, that way you will know for sure. Much better than buying a saw from a " Rebuilder" in the UK who bodged it together with the guts of two roasted saws and the contents of his late grandads tool box.

    Ripsaw???

I got a rebuilt saw sent to Norway from the states for £60. I would choose an American saw builder over a UK one for the simple abundance of new cheap parts there. I asked for a saw to be rebuilt with all new parts and that is exactly what I got, well with the exception of the crankcase. Quality costs but no one regrets it.
  18. Well I would first find out by calling every company within a realistic radius of your home what the demand is for cutters. Then plan your approach depending on the results. No point in spending money on tickets that there is no demand for.
  19. Do you have any experiance clear felling or thinning in commercial forestry?
  20. You are in that bind between ambition and experience, its hard to get taken on without experience as most outfits won't train up guys as its just not worth the hassel. I take it you want to be a timber faller rather than an Arborist?
  21. I got higher than you did at Glastonbury.Seems like I enjoyed myself more too.
  22. Does anyone remember that film of the French " tutor's" taking down that whopping Leb Ceder with a crane? It was an absolute gong show. Love to see it again.
  23. I offer you £595 worth of my most powerful Magic Spells.
