  1. Ambulances risk never turning up if no one wants to drive them because of an un realistically low wage mate. Or would you rather you were tended to by a binman? You know, one of those low skilled jobs that deserve a pay rise.
  2. £50k is not much tbh. If my decisions were a matter of life and death for which I was potentially liable for another person I would want three times that. Unskilled is exactly that.
  3. Yes Because their wages are a joke , if they do nothing then nothing will improve.
  4. Bit brisk this morning on the job. -15 on the drive to the site.
  5. Thus drawing a parallel line between a Lawyer and a Scavanger? Quite.
  6. I have learned a great deal from this forum, made some great mates, improved my business no end from being able to follow advice given by trusted peers. Its a terrific resource.
  7. But they would still require a power source and have the sender exposed enough to transmit. There are only so many voids you could use to hide it and the unit itself would have to be servicable/ replaceable. I added a fusable link to the ignition circuit if my tracked machine, plus a battery isolation switch. If it stayes on a site I park it hidden on top of the ramps, winch cable attached to something, battery isolated and fuse removed. Leaving a tracked machine on a trailer enables it to be stolen by any vehicle with a tow hitch.
  8. I can see another fall in value in conjunction with the next interest rate hike. People will just cut their losses I guess. When/if it falls past its 2017 peak, will many people risk their money?
  9. If you unscrew the head of a flexable grease line on a regular grease gun the thread will fit the Stihl grease ports. I just use the regular grease that I use on the big kit. No problem so far. Both of them should do but I just use the Nowegian version of Halfords grease.
  10. Yes its loverly up there. Just before the snow comes its gorgeous. Here is a picture from Røldal during hunting season, late august but pretty chilly.
  11. Thats nice Dear. You got caught out making yourself sound important by claiming Øyo products were junk. Thats all anyone needs to know about your experiance of them. Toodle pip hobby miller.
  12. Geilo is where they are made, its a Ski town in the mountains roughly half way between Bergen and Oslo. Its a nice place and the only industry is the Øyo metal works.
  13. Did you buy another tourist quality Axe to go with the first one? Good for you, Geilo needs the revenue. Veldig Bra! As they say.
  14. Picture sayes a thousand words. Øyo have been making tools for a century or more, Does your experiance of Øyo products span the width of the single example you bought at a high street Sports shop Andy? These are good value. I have used one of these and rate it. Decent long handle and a good weight to the head. I know one of the family who makes these. If I can help your dad get one just ask.
  15. Attention. A feeling of importance. The ability to be contraversial without fear of physical consequenses. The belief that he posesses some kind of " power" that he flexes over the forum. Trying on different persona in a safe space. One or more of the above.
  16. Trigger and Gareth Pull your heads in, you are making twats of yourselves.
  17. Great idea Tom! Nice to see someone showing a bit of initiative and not expecting a result to come to them for zero input. If someone offered to split logs for a share of the production I would be all over it . I burn alot of wood per winter but I have to dump alot too. I would rather see it going to be used, even better used by someone who appreciates it. Keep asking, someone will take you up on it.
  18. Congratulations! Will you be largely moored up or plan to be transient?
  19. I am not so sure. People have been climbing SRT for the 26 years I have been in the industry. First time I tried it was in Canada 18 years ago where they used a single line and a pair of Jumar's to get into big connifers.
  20. You might need two. Dozer PTOs run anti clockwise in my experiance
  21. Behold the Chipdozer! An unholy union of British, Latvian and Finnish engineering on a Satanic quest for Arboral destruction. I carried the chipper up an off a wet off camber track with the dozer instead of risking the Valtra. Shame the dozer dosnt have enough shaft speed to run the chipper. Be a propper weapon .
  22. Not many of them Joe. UK treework is mostly a doss. If you want to do big stuff on a daily basis you have to go to the PNW or the South Pacific. Thats my opinion after working in the UK for five years, BC for two and Alaska for three, as well as NZ for 5 before leaving for Canada.
