  2. loler states that you should inspect all your kit daily before use and recorded weekly and inspected within a 6 month period by an independant assessor so was he told it needed inspecting OR inspecting by a qualified inspector as there is a difference

  9. i would pay to do a tree of that size was really impressed by how they strapped the stem did a bad big ash last week that could have done with stem straps then may have stopped the need for bicycle clips
  10. some ropes like fly start at 11mm but end up at about 13mm which is crap if you want an 11mm rope xtc seems to swell as well:BoomSmilie_anim:

    we started a couple of years ago with tons suffering but are finding some are fighting it and seem to be recovering so are now assessing risk and monitoring and not felling as many
  12. we had a work experience kid from college after he had done 2 tears at colledge scared of height scared of work and useless realized he had wasted 2 years how crap is that last saw him in Mcdonalds

  15. we are quite fortunate loads of choice we use a plant hire firm called rodgers or a big traffic management company called moxons which are both big firms that both use the little portable battery ones so no probs starting or damaged wires would suggest you take note where your local authority highway dept use and try them our highways dept have about 20 sets on permanent hire rather than buying because of the backup service and if any probs just swap them
  16. sorry to diverse did a big dead ash last week full of alfreds but they semp to have died gone all brittle and when you touched them they went to powder is this a sign of how dead the tree was or what? never seen them like this before

  18. my uncomfortable height is them little pissy trees that are hardly big enough to climb or use a rope and harness
  19. we hire them in though have thought about buying them but cheep as chips to hire and we now only use battery ones and handy having hire company available to repair or replace if you bought them and had probs job would have to stop down time and storage need to taken int consideration

    not every body uses them one handed be safe and dont cut your ass or people will be wanting ass protectors as well as sleeve protectors do you wear 2 pairs double protection and what about some for your upper arms
  21. if you mean veg cooking oil would be not good imo gear oil would be better

  23. folding we dont use them all the time and have folding ones in covers stashed out of the way on all vehicles
  24. 12" or 14" i keep coming across folk using 14 inch and i think 12 is much better and safer have heard reasons like can reach further = cant climb cuts bigger limbs = change saw if you cant cut it with a 12 inch get a more powerful saw interested in other peoples views is it worth a poll
