  1. 357 had problems with there automatic de-compression which caused probs with running which they supply a retro kit for and on the new ones back to the manual one we have about 9 of these of various ages and think there spot on now though are a lot better on 15 inch bars and we run 372s for 18 inch not going off subject we run all heated handles as well if you are spending £500 on a saw for many years use what is another £30 think of your hands
  2. i tried pete mctrees when he first got them so presume on original gaffs and i liked the gaffs but wasnt convinced on the straps

    splicing ropes

    can splice 3 strand multiplait tennex but bought couple of splicing kits for climbing ropes and really struggled or should i stay struggling any tips would be accepted with renewed interest

  7. my ex boss cut straight through into his leg not too deep thankfully and we carried on using saw no clogging occured he cut his front thigh with his knee bent if he had cut down his leg they would of worked or if his knee hadnt of been bent they would have worked so it may of been how or where he cut himself as on the front there is not much difference from A-C

    Chips

    i personally give all my chips away then no one can complain except the man whose garden looked like a poplar nursery
  10. i think i am right that it is recomended and in best practice you would have to wear Cs for nptc test and training and you should provide them for employees which makes up my mind and what would h&s say if you had an accident and how much of everything we do is recomended rathen than laid down in stone
  11. i have 2 hardly used fly ropes 25m and about 45m going to sensible offers

  13. life sucks then you cut your rope a mate of mine cut 3 in 6 weeks then none for 5 years and all down to wind or caught in branches i once had to extend my climbing rope with my short rope which ended going into chipper with prussick and 2 crabs going through before it stalled chipper as it started to pull me out of tree and yes it was new too why is it also you only cut yourself with a new silky blade On a serious note how many other climbers have put a old bit of rope into climbing system then with feet just off the ground cut rope with there silky you will be amazed

  19. i thought they looked brilliant till i found out how much they cost so we made something similar which worked like a treat got some fine mesh material and sewed a big hem on top then used them big cone road barrier things then just weighted bottom and off we went will post pics next week

  21. no it does not but more down to supervisory levels as you could modify your climbing to suite there requirments but would hate working that way in a tree
