  7. we have had problems with street lighting positioning generally street lights are now placed at the back of pavements as people keep walking into them and suing and lights now have a defined glow area but LA are also bound by certain spacings for different speed limits so it may have been unavoidable and maybe to light a junction i would hope there is a reason but i would certainly ask
  8. when we got our tw250 we decided to send them back to our tw dealer as if anything went wrong they always blame wrong angle or not hollow ground and were amazed when they came back flat ground we could have same done local for half price so i phoned tw and were told they are not worried as long as we run sharp blades rather than dull ones they were happy so we are now flat grinding local :bongsmi::bongsmi:

  12. thankfully we dont block down many large stems mainly due to a hiab and bad backs so we lower big lumps with grcs or supprising how high hiab will reach to snap lumps off had a bit of justifying to buy grcs but will maybe look at a block driver for the next big grave job but if you get a big block off youve still to cut it up so why not do it up the tree :bongsmi::bongsmi:
  13. i tend to start work on site 9am leave between 3and5pm would pay more after 5pm unless we have been slack and drunk tea all day a fair days work for a fair days pay rather than per hour is my main aim

  23. have put loads of christmas trees up but 6inch pipe seems small would expect you have to shave plenty off bottom of tree to get a fit i would have said 12inch min but that obviosly depends on size of tree we also wedge them and use cables to secure
  24. we have rescue training days every 6 months and part of that day is spent familiarising with everyone elses kit and also going over tips and trying new bits and bobs without having any work to do makes all the difference
  25. we always wanted a jensen and 2 years ago we got a big pto one which to be honest has been a bad chipper but i think we were just unlucky getting a friday morning one i know others that had no probs and now our many probs have been sorted its a good chipper but when it was new and having so many probs would have quite happily blown it up
