  1. Thanx guys. Some pretty excellent advice there!! Im gonna phone up the small local companys tomorrow morning and see what they say.. I reckon once i get my foot in the door i shouldnt have a problem, i like to think im quite a bright lad and i have a good attitude. I'll keep y'all posted. Thanx. Carl.
  2. I would like to learn the "proper" way but i dont have the luxury to take time off work.. id have to do it part time, one day a week at college maybe. I think i need to find a company that will let me work as a labourer whilst studying.. that way i will have the qualifications and also the hands on experience. Are the courses expensive?
  3. A taster day sounds like a plan! Thanx!!! Where abouts are you Peter? Cheers guys Im still in my other job but i get the odd day off midweek aswell as sat + sun Carl.

  5. Hello all. My name is Carl, 23 year old lad looking to get into tree surgery. Ive been working as a removals porter for the past 4 years and i want a change.. Im used to working outdoors and hard work is not a problem. How can i get into tree surgery? I am very hands on and would like to learn as i work. Freelance climbing sounds like something i would eventually like to achive in the long run. What qualifications do i need? or can i just pick it up as i go along? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanx. Carl
