  2. Can I suggest changing the Prussics to VT,s they do not slip and do not lock up like Prussics. Honest. They are soooooo much better I have a 6-1 permanently set up in a bag and find it really handy

    Spikes

Totally agree steve Tried loads and they are the best spikes out there IMO Even ones that are more expensive. Personally I preference the strap at the bottom rather than the Velcro at the bottom. Sadly I have both but gave the Velcro ones to my son
  8. Did a few this year and just went on a subsidence with trees and that was well worth going on. Will try to list em all later this week But some for starters Did pti Few cavat days Arb first aid First aid at work
  9. Certainly think the protos is the best Would I buy one? Could I afford one? Watch this space haha
  10. Not only are you a miserable git You decided to tell us all Sad git as well IMO
  11. I have a 550 and a 560 560 is a cracking saw but a lot of power and more for either logging or running 18 inch For a general purpose I prefers the 550
  12. I was a snake owner for 2 months and just did not like it. Sold mine. Personally I was very disappointed and not what I expected from ART
  13. This will go round and round There is no expiry but current guidelines say refresher training to stay current with best practice. I would doubt any reputable company would see that someone who had been out of the industry and got a qual 20 odd yrs ago was currently qualified. Certainly if someone came to work for me and had got a driving license and had not done any driving for 20 yrs I don't think I would want them driving my car Blue book was more a cert of attendance than what we are now expected and is a independent assessment for competence. Personally I would recommend refresher training or even re doing the certs or at least work with another tree bod to keep an eye on him. HSE state upto 5 yrs and we should do refresher
  14. You do nice pens and jackets though haha
  15. Which chippers are they on. All the range or just certain models Certainly look nice
  16. Tbh my Tw is going in for new bearings tomorrow but it last had some in 2006 Since then it's not had anything go wrong till this yr. And it's not a lot to have them done (I hope)well last time it wasn't Admittedly I don't use it every day though I would happily buy another but would like to go upto a 190 next time
  17. Which dealer is better near you? Personally I would pick up the husky and preference fixing them than the stihl But what's dealer is more important
  18. I have both Just bought another 550 Tbh I am a husky man but the amount of people I know that have moved to the new 550 and 560 is amazing. Not all saws are good but the 550 and 560 and very good saws And cheaper than the stihl equivalents
  19. It's always going to happen but just hope no one gets hurt. I am sure the manufacturers don't just cobble some bits out of the shed and weld it together. For me the time and effort just are not worth it And the piece of mind that it will have been designed and tested. I am not saying I would not copy anything but I would consider what it is very carefully
  20. Blue tongue would be my choice. But really decide what diameter and just work accordingly. Personally I prefer Yale rope and tbh so do most Most 11mm rope seem like 11 mm and once you get upto 11.7 they seem to feel fatter But always seem to buy a rope I like colour wise haha
  21. Would be interested in where you got that confirmed or is that just your interpretation
  22. But the person that asked you to do it could certainly be prosecuted if they are not satisfied you have been trained and competent That is the hard bit if you don't have the £££ piece of paper
  23. Certainly round our way they know it exists as all lads are put through. Got my son booked on it in march Think it's a good course tbh
  24. Would not of thought any of them actually make them. Though shows which buy the better parts haha
  25. Yep dean key rings are always good though I don't think I gotta bandit one. Am afraid the arborwear one is my fav as also opens a bottle of beer. Still very impressed with the hand blade sharpener though. Will have to post a pic and review of that
