    Tachograph

we have a 17 tonner with a tw250 behind it and we do not use tacho,s down to exemptions. I work for a LA and they have folk employed to look after all O licence stuff please dont quote me on these Distance from base mileage daily is less than the limit( we logged them to prove it for 6 months) forestry exemption which is clutching as we are an arb team but we are the forestry dept and it says so on the vehicle Also we are not employed as drivers we are employed as arborists I am not saying all these are correct but i think this was the general gist

    glad its done

today is tuesday up here and it did rain just for a change
  5. bob

    glad its done

no sorry most of it handed off nice and steady then rung down to about 10ft and stem felled had to lower a couple of small bits as did not like going out too far to get them light enough had a horrible bend and weak point from the snapped out bit
  6. i liked the principle of those pole pruner support things but you will look an arse using it thunderbirds are go
  7. bob

    glad its done

no where for it to go and the lean was too bad and loads of branches through wires and would have had to shut the road for a couple of mins and men to pull would have been a 6 man job
  8. went to look at this last Thursday fitted it in at the end of today and to be honest am glad its done was over a very busy narrow road and traffic management would have been a nightmare so did it at tea time when it was busiest just to make life more fun
  9. i think thats a shame there protected for a reason i would like to only have approved folk been able to carry out work that does not include felling ie prunning and crown reductions, lifting ect
  10. at work there are 8 of us on blaze and never had a problem like that I was very suprised to read that i have milked no more than 10 inch of any blaze and always off the end
  11. that takes me back will have to dig it out again what did you play it on
  12. if it was fine to leave another week that would say a lot to me
  13. hahahhaahahahahahahahahahahhahahahah this thread seems to be getting off on a tangent
  14. nice one thank you for going to all that trouble next time could we have a few pretty ladies as well please
  15. i have both and like both will be interesting what tacky rope is like a year down the line i have never really had a problem with milking blaze although the spiderjack really pushes the sheath down and milks 6 inch of most ropes and then there good to go
  16. is the core still attached to the sheath
  17. sounds like you were watching me i am going to buy some bigger ladders so i can be a pro
  18. that was exactly my sentiments and i would have enjoyed it once did a larch that with my strop on full length i still could not stand verticle as it lent so much
  19. what about something like this this is one I did on friday
  20. so do you think 2 to 1 would be better then although the cost of the course would double and what if the other guy was thick as wood you would be really arsed then and i only assess not instruct so i am not biased and yes it is quite common to get 2 lads better than the other 2 but it also common to get a course full of nuppets
  21. buy 2 and stitch em together:scared1:
  22. yes you can just go for your assessment the assessor should not be aware of what or with who if any training has taken place unless the candidate mentions it the lads i work with have all got 30 31 32 38 39 40 41 as a minimum and have never been on a training course
  23. so let me get this right in 10 days you could train 4 new climbers to climb trees use chainsaws prune trees and use lowering devices and ropes and go straight out into the industry as fully qualified climber you must be a really good instructor
  24. bob

    Gloves

nod does some summer and also some winter rigging gloves which are really good and very reasonable at only £8 and i really liked them http://www.treeworker.co.uk/acatalog/Protective_Gloves_39.html
  25. read the assessment criteria would be my first piece of advice
