Good luck with your search! Cracking tools, certainly enjoyed using mine and helping Richard Barber from Windley Hill Sawmills in Turnditch with his on a couple of jobs in the 80's and early 90's!

They do comply if the bottom of the infeed is above 600mm off the floor. The spec is/has changed so that the bottom bar and below 600mm is the way forward. I reckon that we have sold our last top bar machine and everything is now bottom bar or twin bar. As long as the controls function as per the original spec, nothing needs to be changed.

Hard to steer unit and hold it in the back wheels and use hand winch at the same time usually. Any small electric winch would do the job. Seen it done with our CS100!

Sound advice. If he needs something under 750kg then I doubt that there are many options! Go for a QuadChip if you need sub 750kg and like turntable option!

I may well have been tempted to go to the local belt supplier with it and they may match it up with what they got it in stock. As a Perkins part, I doubt that GreenMech would have it in stock anyhow. Your Perkins engine dealer would help but it would be a trifle expensive from them I'll wager!

Some Ex-Ute stuff is as said, extremely utilised! But they aren't all like that and sometimes very well maintained on a lease package. View it, by cynical, leave the rose tinted specs at home, go to the auction and sit in your hands for the first few and see what happens! Good luck!

I got a Sony mobile, XA1, the missus had one and do did her eldest. Got to be honest, phone was okay, a couple of decent features but battery life is awful! Indeed woefully inadequate! Anyone know of a fix?

Blimey!!! Them CS100 copies from our old dealer in Italy have gotten expensive! Why the price hike?

A few folk have tried it but it is too complicated and in the end, the best way is tipper truck and tow behind. It may be possible with a small thing like our CS100, but even then, the infeed becomes too high! A machine with rollers will be, again, rather high. But also, the nose weight of the trailer would bedroom heavy empty unless you have a sliding bogey axle! I haven't seen such a tipping trailer. Then, as you load, the axle will have to moved progressively further back, so very complicated.

I'm a Manager with engineering skills and there are times when I have to put aside the nuts and bolts thing and recognise the need to Manage letting the engineering wait and other times being strong enough to embrace the engineering in the management decision!

I presume that you mean oscillate rather than isolate? 'wobble' rather than 'set apart'? You are right in that a flywheel can minutely change shape as it rotates at speed an bites into wood - added to that motion, a tracked machine also has gyroscopic forces to contend as the chipper is tracked about. This too can cause movement and accelerate bearing wear!

Not always, managers manage a different set of scenarios, some of which will make no sense to an engineer while an engineer is black or white stuff and nothing in between. Having said that, an engineer and a business manager will always clash as they want different things out of the project.

There is a sum or guide which gives surface area of the groove and how much is needed to give grip. Hence two, three or four belts. Some belts don't appreciate being stretch in the back by an outside pulley too. The actual amount lost isn't much realistically though. I found it interesting that the manual shows one thing but the office says another!

I do believe that there are specific ramps for this, the samexas there are specific ramps and infill sections for rubber tracked machines to cross from one side of the track to the other effortlessly.

What does it say in the Ops Manual? I'm sure the Jensen importer will be able to help with this? Try and ring Bill Johnston at TH White's and asking for the electronic version of it?

If you are doing the work in Wales, then buy in Wales! If ought goes wrong or it needs a service, the local dealer will beglad to see you if you brought it off him!

To have a motorised trolley is expensive, needs a trained and certified driver and is something else to be maintained and certified. A trolley however. Requires little training and is light and easy to ship yet easy to push along a smooth track rather than track a machine up a bumpy cess! Other kit can be loaded on the trolley if the unit is taken off!
