  1. Free to anyone who can be bothered to collect it! Was working when I nicked the motor off it. Close J23/24 on the M1.
  2. Midlands Machinery Show - 9 and 10 Nov 2021 WWW.MIDLANDSMACHINERYSHOW.COM The show is a platform for SME and large agricultural machinery businesses to showcase their products to those... GreenMech will be there with Burdens, our Lincolnshire dealer. I'll probably be there on both days with an Evo165DT tracked demo unit.
  3. BBC News - 'Robust action' taken against tree disease found in Cornwall https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cornwall-58998190
  4. Have Forst and Timberwolf got dealer representation in Canada?
  5. That somes it up really, timber production and Arboriculture are two different enterprises and neither mix etc.
  6. I got talking to a New Zealander some years ago, over here on holiday and went to The New Forest Show. He asked what kind of treework people did if they only had 6" machines.......he reckoned he had more hp in his starter motor than we put into the engine!
  7. Having them made under licence is always a possibility, as is setting up a manufacturing plant elsewhere. The old "cost/benefit ratio" is the king question!
  8. The American Market (and Canada) would be difficult to manage due to the distances, the expectations in Service and Spares, the sheer volume that may be involved, exchange rates, the European standards may not suit the locals etc. We have done machines into America in the past but we got enough on in other parts of the world right now. The American Parks Department wanted a small, light, capable tracked unit and were ignored by the suppliers over there. So we made one for them, had a picture of it with Mount Rushmore in the background on our webpage, the Department got pilloried for their unpatriotic behaviour......
  9. We decided not to export to that side of the pond. I'd love the Sales job, if they did change their mind! I'd consider a GreenMech, take it yourself and show the locals the benefit of buying British!
  10. My lad has a one off Subaru Legacy with 285 at the wheels, only an use best quality fuel and oils. Some parts can be awkward or expensive but, as Rich says, Internet is your friend. He insures this with a special company and everything is declared. It is expensive, but, in my experience, if it has tits or tyres, it will cost and break your heart!
  11. I have had 4x4 County Transit, 4x4 Iveco Daily, Landrover 109,110,127,130, Disco 4, Range Rover LSE, Isuzu Rodeo, Freelander and Ranger over the years..... Ask yourself, do you really need a 4x4 or can you run two vehicles? Anything Transit sized is pretty useless as an off road carrier unless the ground is good and hard. Anything Transit sized is pretty awful on road too tbh! Off road in anything less than good conditions isn't advisable and more often a liability!
  12. The Lowdown on Red diesel rule changes WWW.THECONSTRUCTIONINDEX.CO.UK From 1st April 2022, many sectors will lose their entitlement to use ‘red’ diesel and rebated biodiesel across a variety of...
  13. Hi Upatree! Are you saying that the "connection" is an electrical cable or the belts that drive the rotor? The UK Jensen manual was always pretty poor so perhaps your best solution would be to search the Jensen Germany webpage and talk to them yourself. Best regards going forward,
  14. Shortage of ADR drivers!?! Hmmm, not that many left the industry I reckon To go 'home' due to visa regs....and no work at home? I tend to think that this is a manufactured situation which the gullible public have latched on to which has only enhanced the situation.
  15. "Doctor, heal thyself!" From bullshine quotation....
  16. Europe Mick, we still have to apply their rules! Changes in the infeed chute were driven by them too!
  17. Sub 750 still exists across the water! Plus, you could add to the mix, physical size for storage, weight off your carrying allowance or MAM, budget, or need. But yes, for years we have fair struggled to keep things below 750 while giving a quality product which will last a few years without the chassis breaking and have a viable chipper that can do a couple of days without needing to be re filled etc!
  18. Sorry, just read my post. I should have put Plant Hire customer reports that he will be unable to hire out anything to anyone and accept a returned machine which has been filled with red but has asked who has the time for these regulations and who is going to enforce them too!
  19. Customer of mine tells that he has had it confirmed that red diesel is shortly to be made unavailable to farmingband fisheries in the very near future. Anyone heard similar?

GreenMech had an outdoor stand at a recycling machinery show at the NEC, I'd gone in to use the bogs and have a wander. There was a huge crowd blocking a cross section of aisles, an exhibitor with a large screen tv had the news on. The silence apart from the odd curse, was very strange......it pretty well ended the show.
  21. I used to roll them up ramps with a few turns around the log to increase the efficiency of the winch. If it starts to run out, a suitably placed chock can "steer" it back. Good job, done well though!
  22. Cannot beat a box of Yorkshire tea, would you get charged extra If I posted a jiffy bag full?
  23. Knocked about with a yoof whose Dad was a gun Smith in the 70's. The parish Church and in particular, the weather vane, must be riddled with 22 holes! The old boy gave us opportunities to shoot (legally too), a variety of bores and styles. Imaging shooting at stalked rabbits with a 9mm automatic pistol, a 303 Bren converted to single shot, a 243 at targets across a couple of fields etc. Shot guns a plenty and revolvers too!
