She is a good old one from the mid 90's, flat bottomed infeed and hinged infeed but bolted up solid! I reckon she would do a few years yet! I cannot remember if the ring comes off the flywheel so a quick bench test of the starter and a visual check of the ring would be in order!

Too true Helen, ask the supplier and Grillo UK to confirm that nothing is missing and how the blade is located then have the factory confirm this. I would think it is good practice to have an unbalance in the cutting system which will greatly accelerate bearing and shaft wear and if it fails, potentially dangerous too! I cannot believe it is true....

There doesn't appear to be any register or locator nor any kind of extra dowls or bolt holes to stop the blade movement! Anything left on the floor or field? Distance is not really an issue with parts being sent out to rectify the problem if your rights have been infringed and you should "facetime" or video call the shop or Grillo so they can see in an instance and be able to compare directly with a stock machine.

That is still sat in the yard along with a couple of other projects for company! A basket case Elswick and Turner Ranger also joined the Nickerson Turfmasters and a couple similar aged trade ins. I was wondering if there is a 'register' which is 20mm for the blade to sit on before the bolt is tightened. It makes no sense otherwise. BTW, the shop soldit to you so technically, they have to deal with it. But just cannot see how/why it would be assembled with that blade on a smaller bolt only.

That very interesting question also throws into the pot of the pre 97 folk who tow, have towed, without training or issue going forwards? I've towed since 82, without an issue, as the then licence allowed so why should I now be penalised by insurance companies who were happy to previously take my coin?

Some of the hoops or regulations that machine manufacturers have to work too is often beyond the comprehension of sensible people at times..... All new chippers have a slightly longer infeed chute, all have to have a bottom infeed control bar and all have to have an infeed stopping button (or two) on the top of the infeed chute. This was insisted upon by a foreign HSE department as anyone stood in the infeed chute, kicking in brash or chogs, was in danger of being hurt and, once passed the Red bar, had no control over the infeed rollers! The infeed chute has to be of a certain length, top, bottom and sides, preventing anyone reaching in to grab the rollers. A discharge chute has to be a certain length or shape so that no one is able to put their arm down the thing too close to the rotor. If the chute is designed to be removable, it cannot be too easily removed or tools or thought process needed to complete the act. It may need an interlocking interface to secure the hole or make the thing safe etc. In fewer words, we have to try and make them idiot proof....

Straddle is better than in 4ft and risk ripping track off or dislodging a clip etc! I too have seen road2rail kit and trolley stuff which does work, but nowt beats a SafeTrac or SureTrak to up/down or across/along slopes.

New Evo205SureTrak is too wide to ride the 4ft on request of authorities too!

We done a few but dropped that style in favour of other ways of doing it. Being a manufacturer, we got far more responsibility to protect folk. In theory, a folding chute has to protect folk from being able to access the rotating flywheel by sticking their arm down the tube!. Hence the micro switch on a QuadChip or the sprung loaded flap on the Evo165D.....

The Arb130 is the same platform, chip chamber, rotor, blah blah blah as the 150 but fitted with a 23hp Vee twin Honda. The Arb150 was 34hp diesel, 25hp diesel or 37hp Petrol so will be suited to a different workload and budget.
