  1. You mean that you lift yer feet up when she is hoovering!
  2. I'm off from the 23rd 'til the 4th. But the phone will always be switched on - you never know, I might even get to sell a chipper (Hah).
  3. I use the hoover to clear up feathers and uneaten bits of bird when the cat has been feasting. My Mum always says that you need a clean kitchen and loo - time is too precious to spend doing housework especially when the rugby is on!
  4. Hmm, odd one that. I presume that it is a proximity switch measuring the speed from up by the top pulley. Mike's suggestion to look at that was right in that you check the simply things (cheap) things first. Contact Greenmech on 01789 400044 asking for service or PM me or call me on 07774 282481 and we'll have a chat.
  5. Now that is a bizarre way to get up a tall thin tree! Well done for finding the photographs John.
  6. Steve, don't know if you got the phone message but I've secured a GreenMech Fleece for the raffle!

    Best regards Pete B

  7. Mick, the gloves have turned up - many thanks for that. My lad reckoned they smell of chocolate!

    Best regards.

  8. If it was an old Landy, I would have took the spark plugs out and put her in lowest gear with diff locked and wound her out using the starting handle. (had to do it once)
  9. Andy, Hope you have a good one and many more to come I'm sure. Very best wishes.
  10. Stevie, go for it - get swimming lessons. I went swimming with my two every wednesday evening for the last 5 years (divorced dad's thing) and really enjoyed knowing that they will be safe around water and confident in future adventures beyond my time with them. Having fun on diggers etc is a great thing too, I mess with engines and gearboxes with my son and try shopping with my daughter although it fills me with dread. Happy times though always. Best regards
  11. You should have started a new thread for this but thanks for opening it up as the pictures of the Red Mog U1000 bought back a tear - it was mine some years ago! The advantages/disadvantages of any machine depend on the circumstances of its use. Obvious pros include cost, weight, resale value and general usability for most circumstances. However, if you do rail deveg, or overhead lines, or site clearance, or big forestry clearance then don't get a road tow as the become a ground anchor off road, they generally arn't big enough, the towing vehicle cannot access the site etc. Give us an example of the type of work that it needs to do and I'm sure that you'll get many responses. Cheers
  12. I would think that the throttle quadrant needs to be nipped up to give it a tad more friction. Failing that get a bungee!
  13. A job well done that, I'll bear it in mind when I want some landscaping done. Shame about the circumstances tho', it galls me that one day my parents may be done over like that.

    forks

We used beet forks which had a "bobble" on the end of each tine, the helped prevent damage to the lorries and were good for raking up on lawns without ripping out the turf.
  15. Well done for posting the positive Andy.
  16. That looks like it come keen! Ouch, Hope your mate has a speedy recovery.
  17. Has it's own place in the market. Pay for what you get etc etc... I disliked the Lada Niva that we had around for a while, but it was a belter off road and was very cheap. It did the job that it was purchased for.
  18. Fair comment Andy, I did cringe when I first read it knowing what the response was likely to be. Perhaps Geordie tact was missing at the time.......
  19. Thanks for that Mick, pm on the way. Cheers all.
  20. John is away on holiday at the present. Although I'm from GreenMech I have to admit that John's big feet went in without thinking there. I like John and he is an honest guy tho' sometimes his opinions or comments ought to be kept to himself as they can run away and cause offense.
  21. Whats wrong with the Tiger's bias, they happen to hold a lot of good players at the mo. I thought it was a fairly scrappy match unworthy of us and the Men in Black which is a terrible shame. The Scots however were inspired in their defense measures, would have loved to been there, great match!
  22. Cut my thumb in two some 25 years ago. Its now about a centimeter shorter than t'other with no knuckle in the middle and no tendon to pull the tip up. It healed slightly twisted despite the six inches of wire pushed into it in four places. That's what happens when you rush cutting logs on a large circular saw! Two months off work and I was self employed
