  7. repeated topping while ugly and no good for the health of the tree and may kill it, like treequip stated isn't as serious as a gas explosion. people need to be educated but at the end of the day a lot of people see it as 'just a tree'. in my experience people don't look far beyond the end of their cheque book. Jamie

  21. I would happily get every ticket under the sun if it meant at the end of the day i was paid more for it and the cowboys peanlised. I drove past some guy a few weeks ago 6 foot above his 2 extension ladder one handing a rear handled saw. i turned to my mum and commented on there being another 'chainsaw accident statistic waiting to happen' i should have turned and got a picture. we all know the problems Jamie
  22. Jamie

    name that rope

it's name is Barry???? and you also have some clear celophane and a bit of orange stuff Jamie
  23. when you are tied on to the limb or when you are hanging from it it's only your weight suspended. (on a climbing system each end of the rope takes half your weight). when the rope is passed over the anchor and tied to the base your weight doubles due to reactionary force on the other end of the rope. there has to be an equal pull on both ends of the rope so the force at teh anchor point is double of the load on one end. does that help???? a diagram would be good. Jamie
  24. I understand it, just i cant explain it. how about you just accept it..... not a good answer Jamie
  25. usea slip hitch when? as opposed to my girth hitch? or instead of my bight through the loop? Jamie
