  1. its a tendon that runs from hip down to your shin bone. it's most commonly iritated over the end of your thight bone. the problem is exaserbated (sp) from suat like movements and high impact. i seem to get better for so long then it comes back. i was just getting happy with my running. i was able to run and look at the views. Jamie
  2. we steam clean our flip line. I've heard all sorts for cleaning krabs, everything form petrol through wd40 to using graphite powder. Jamie
  3. where are they tom? there is a big wellentonia in Lael forest park. i've often thought about doing some of the douglas firs in the hermitage at dunkeld. there is a jumbo spruce at plodda falls (around the end of glen affric) Jamie
  4. I'd love to get involved in the OMM, my IT band gave way and i'm still trying to nurse it better again. Jamie
  5. Martyn, my gaffer complains about the same thing, but it's not only newbies. I've seen some freelance climbers who couldn't hack it. the bosses favorite sorting out technique is he will tell them to come along monday as he has an 80ft dead beech to be climbed, just don't come along if you can't get it sorted in the day. Jamie
  6. slow down. when i first started i made a point of only chipping, why learn to drive a tractor and climb and runa saw, start at the bottom and work up. work slow and safe and build up slowly. Jamie
  7. i'll by a beet to the person (non arb) who cuts it down. the guy who got us in liked it. don't know about the locals. Jamie
  8. first up is about teh 3rd one i did, second pic you can see it in it's natural setting 3rd are some more. the one on the right it perhaps a bit too boxy. Jamie

    big bob

120cc. we have one and a stihl 090 (150cc) we have a 56 link bar for a 371 (bought by mistake) which would fit onto a 385 but i've ever got round to it yet. Jamie
  10. **** thats crap, like has been said before it makes you brutally aware of the risks we take and how close to our (my) life line i run a saw. The longer i'm in this game the more i think about second anchors. Jamie
  11. up at 5 if i want to cycle to work, up at 6 if i'm driving. in the yard for half 7 on site as soon as. Jamie
  12. I sure do Tom, how'd you guess? Jamie
  13. Tom where are they from? my boss has been looking into this to save dumping rings on the bonfire after each day. he has a sample from somewhere coming. Jamie
  14. Screw this tree work, there is too much red tape. i'm gonna become a freelance porn star. At least that way when it's wet you know you are doing something right and it's gonna be a good day:001_tt1: Jamie
  15. see when you are bored, think THEN type.....i'm guilty of that too however Jamie
  16. went there when i was 15....such a long time ago. that was before my desire to work with trees. it's a nice place (i went just before christmas so it wasn't too hot) Jamie
  17. A crap groundie will make a good climber look crap, a good groundie will make a crap climber look good. If people would stop and listen to what professionals say and stop thinking i want it topped / who is the cheapest, that to me would be a lot more valuable than more red tape Jamie

    no fear

Careful you arn't using teh word fear when you mean wary then. you need to be confident but respectful. Jamie
  19. I'd like the chainbrake on the 200t to be attached to both sides of the saw not just slotted in, it always manages to come loose on me on the left hand side. not sure if that makes sense. I'd quite like heated handles on a topper, using them on a ground saw is a god send, up a tree would be great. Jamie
  20. a little bit of friendly banter and gentle jibes are ok, major stuff like what you said andy is bang oiut of order Jamie
  21. Ahhhh Mr Bob, my whipping techniques are top secret, if i told you i'd have to kill you. karateeeeee chop (i couldn't find a suitable smilie) Jamie
  22. Leyburn, I'd get disco legs if i realised i'd never done up my leg loops See photo 2 Jamie
  23. my one, made by me changes to it are, i now have a 4 wrap prussic as opposed to teh blakes, i still have the shackle on teh end and i now have a thin bit of cord heading off to the retieval shackle. its at work just now so i can't show any pics. i think the main rope is a meter and a bit and spliced both ends. finished off with my special whipping Jamie

    no fear

nuggsy, I'm not scared of saws, never have been. I am aware of what can happen if i let my concentration lapse. Like with climbing, i'm not scared of heights but I've a healthy respect for a long fall and the solid ground. Jamie
  25. The RFS will give you letters after your name, which is good. the ISA will be more internationally recognised. I'd be interested to know how it is percieved being being a Royal society overseas. Jamie
