Of course it's a joke. You should get him some speed instead. Contracting with a team of two I'd want to be making 4-500 a day minimum. 6 hours on site at 80 an hour is £480.

If it's adding an hour onto your day, which you'd charge around £80-£90 to a client, this is costing about 400 quid a week. Buy him a bag of weed on a Friday if he makes his own way in and you both win.

If he's going to have to supply his own PPE, then he's going to have to spend some money. As far as the no strop and one handing goes, then an explanation that things are done by the book at the new place should do it. If he doesn't listen, then he's probably not worth employing no matter how good he is at climbing. -
We felled quite a few of them a few years ago around south shields, they almost all looked like that.

Well, I'd heard of the band but never really listened to their stuff. I wouldn't know if they played well or not. I'd been out for food around lunchtime and then went for a few beers with a mate for his birthday. Some guesties for a gig became available, I stayed out and ended up at the gig. Didn't fall asleep on the bus and wake up in Wallsend either.

Given that ash is ring porous, the dry summer and general lack of rain will have left them struggling. I travel quite a bit with my current role and nationwide it seems like they're in a canny shoddy state. I agree with you Matt, that many roadside trees have just been left to rot, but this looks different. I never really knew elms in the landscape, but driving around and seeing mature ash (admittedly just late) bare, makes us think of how it'll look when they're gone. If I was of the contacting mindset, I'd probably be investing in a decent winch.

Aye, grass can dessicate the soil to 1.5m or thereabouts. That could cause problems for relatively shallow rooting beech trees.

I quite like playing chess. I don't know any real strategies as such and get completely walloped when I play someone who does. My ex lasses dad was quite into it. I got him into fools mate the first time I played him as he wasn't paying attention. He then destroyed us piece by piece for the rest of the night.

I'm up and down the M1 quite a bit. The HADEX-3 cameras they have mounted on the posts that hold up road signs appear to work.
