  1. Paramedics will be, you'd imagine, geting tested for covid pretty regularly. The turn around on tests in hospital for patients is less than 12hrs, it'll be quicker for staff. Indoors in places with little airflow appears to be the main vector for transmission. I can't see paramedics being intentionally reckless. It's not what they do.
  2. Same as it's always been, don't shout 'Give me the money!', and you'll be alright.
  3. Perhaps figures are 'vitually' zero because of the measures that wee ginger, SNP glorious leader has put in place? If restrictions were lifted and cases and deaths rose, would you be happy about it?
  4. Yup, it doesn't really make sense to me either. Some clarity as to what is guiding their decision making would be good.
  5. The main benefit I can see by wearing masks in shops, is that people who are more at risk might now be able to leave their houses and get on with their lives. It's not a major concession to whack one on in a shop.
  6. You should probably get someone in for a look. Too many variables to consider online.
  7. Aye, heave occurs when there is a pre-existing soil moisture deficit at the time of build. There can be issues when trees are younger than the main house, but older than extensions/conservatories. Without a self-serving sum of money, it's impossible to advise without all the site data.
  8. I think a great deal of it is to do with proportionality. Pre-amplification, if you wanted a big sound you had to make a big thing. Perhaps people were smaller in 1775. Good choice. You could have fun with a church organ.
  9. Nothing to see here... UK government 'phoned Saudi Arabia to apologise' for human rights sa… WWW.INDEPENDENT.CO.UK The UK government privately showered Saudi Arabia’s government with praise a day after publicly criticising its...
  10. I took it as 37hrs a week.
  11. It's a birch though, it'll have a bit of a tantrum and die off. Pops etc., then aye, they'll go crackers.
  12. There's no point in phased reductions. The soil moisture will ultimately balance out whether you deck the tree in a oner or remove it over time. If the tree is younger than the house/conservatory, heave is very unlikely. Without knowing the properties of the soil and site it's impossible to assess it.

  17. Cyber warfare is the future: Army ‘to be cut by 20,000’ if No 10 plan is approved WWW.THETIMES.CO.UK Defence chiefs have drawn up plans to slash the army by a quarter and reduce the Royal Marines to a bit part as part of...
  18. So why do you oppose lockdowns then? They evidently work. The Scottish government have done things in your best interests if you go down that path.
  19. Ok mate, it's unsuprisingly whizzed over your head. Who do you think wrote the software that runs the gizmo you're typing on? Do you think they may have been experts? You cherish limited freedoms yet you oppose a lockdown? Explain that to me as I must be having a brain malfunction.
  20. Peer reviewed science is the reason you're able to write this ^ comment on the interweb. Media is powerful unless you critically review it, then you can make an informed choice. Even then it's powerful, because people don't know how to critically review things. (science).
  21. I've just had a letter through saying that I've got a knee operation in a couple of weeks. I have to self isolate for two weeks, then have a covid test two day before the operation (as does the consultant). It seems like the medical 'experts' think these things are worth doing. It staggers the imagination that people dismiss science.
