  1. With VAT as that is the price I have to pay - I ain't VAT registered. Why can't sites just list both?
  2. Dean Lofthouse has a moisture meter and has done some research on this. I am sure he will be along soon to add comments but from what I remember below 20% is good and you would struggle to get below 15% if your wood is stored outside
  3. Father in law just bought 14 acres for 70k just outside Kendal in the lakes. It was planted as a rich mans retreat in 1908 and has a 3 acre fishing lake in ther bottom. This might show it http://www.multimap.com/maps/?qs=silfield+farm&countryCode=GB#map=54.25237,-2.67424|17|32&bd=useful_information&loc=GB:54.2576:-2.70823:14|endmoor|Endmoor,%20Kendal,%20Cumbria,%20England,%20LA8%200 The above doesn't show it, but the wood can be found at lat_2=54.25262&lon_2=-2.67464 on multimap.co.uk
  4. national farmers union. They were cheapest for me £404 for a year2000 defender 130 tipper
  5. Try NFU
  6. My rebate has come about as I was running the business part time whilst in full time PAYE employment, I have therefore paid £x,000 in tax through PAYE. I managed to spend (or be able to write off in depreciation) more than I earned on the trees within the financial year due to a number of factors. I can therefore claim back some of the tax I have paid. Surely it isn't possible to claim back tax you haven't paid in the first place? My accountant doesn't charge me much but certainly earns her money.
  7. Rebate for me as I owned 2 work vehicles and 2 chippers on the last day of the financial year. This was planned in for last year, god knows what I will do this year
  8. Do a youtube search for gixxer kart. One of the originals I am told.
  9. Most definately. Been through a decent selection of fast road cars (Audi UR Quattro, Sierra Cosworth, Impreza, loads of modified Peugeots and Fords) as well as a few track cars. This being the latest
  10. citric acid is the recommended method for removing limescale in kids bottle steamers. Try lemon juice and water that should give the same results
  11. If your processor is worth £30k but you still owe the bank £20k in finance (your liabilities) then your net worth is £10k
  12. You show me yours and I'll show you mine........
  13. As you said you don't need loads of money on Disco's. Defenders however are a different matter. Find a 3k defender that you would happily use as a daily driver and present to potential customers and you are a better man than me. I was told before I bought mine 'Don't buy a defender unless you have a damn good tool kit!' They were right, there is ALWAYS something to fix, tweek or stop leaking.
  14. It certainly is but i am afraid I haver just redirected it to Huddersfield. Sorry Sir :001_tongue:
  15. I'll have to pass it on to either you or Bob then. It got plugged in for about 15 seconds on xmas day to see if it did anything other than hump (it could have been a memory stick). It didn't so has been 'put to one side' for the forseable future unless anyone wants it. Any offers for a swap?
  16. a small plastic dog that when plugged in to the USB port humps your PC.
  17. what did you get Andy, I'm looking for something myself. Either a spotting scope or a scope attachment.
  18. Days leaf blowing for me, provided it isn't raining. Good customer of mine has me in just before xmas to tidy the estate before the parties he has. Then a fortnight off I think before I start on the full(ish) diary for January. Enjoy the time off you have and happy Christmas to one and all of you. Lets hope the phones ring a bit more regularly in 2009. Kev
  19. Any damage (chips, scratches, dirty interior, etc) is chargable and in my experience (with cars at least) they expect them back in near mint condition.
  20. I'm also with NFU and like yourself their quote including tools and chipper was the same as trust last year for PLI only. Only started with them as they seemed to be the only company that would insure a modified landrover, I now have everything with them. Phoned the Skipton office, phone number available via NFU website just enter skipton as your location. They seemed to be much more switched on than the local offices.
  21. Did you get everything done you had booked the climber for? If so then I assume the customer paid up without issue. if this is the case then I would pay but have a word about the impressions he has left you with. He is a contract climber who relies on his reputation for work, talking to your friends could cost him much more than a day or 2's wages you might dock. If you didn't manage to get everything you wanted to do done because you had to run him about then I would discuss this with the climber and come to some arrangement stating you have lost money as a result of the climbers predicaments and you want some compensation. As for the sandwiches, never mess with another mans wife or snap. Unless you offered to share them he would have eaten woodchip and have been told to leave site.
  22. Things are good, yes I am the proud owner of a new set of marigolds for the days I am not throwing the saws about. Why I didn't do it sooner I will never know. How's things up north?

  23. As Matt says they government has said it will increase 'other' taxes on fuel so the overall forecourt price remains the same. To those that are VAT registered it just means your fuel costs have gone up by 2.5%. I've just got back from the states and petrol there is now $1.69 a GALLON. When petrol hit $4 a gallon (nearly 45p a litre) some of the Americans stopped buying fuel as it was just rediculously priced, people were going mad. At the same time we were paying the equivalent of $12 a gallon, what did we do about it? Helping small businesses - my arse!!!
  24. PM sent Thanks
  25. Yes Please Steve.
