  1. It didn't go wrong ,Survived the recession ...it grew slowly got better under the coalition and then seemed to explode when it went , confidence in spending ? but I was not expecting the grow that much and all... I can think of all my brickie and plumber mates who moved of to OZ and NZ as there was nothing here... just about every building site had shut down.
  2. Old news eggs... is it relevant after his trident u turn though?? Probably not https://www.google.co.uk/amp/www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/british-army-could-stage-mutiny-under-corbyn-says-senior-serving-general-10509742.html%3Famp https://www.google.co.uk/amp/www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/almost-nobody-would-support-generals-military-coup-against-jeremy-corbyn-poll-finds-a6698521.html%3Famp I think his u turn on trident and seemingly to drop his complete pacifist stance as it was upsetting a few folk in the MOD could of been down to the above ..so it probably would not happen hey? Unless he does a u turn again.
  3. I remember when we all wanted change where sick of the Torys, fox hunting the criminal justice act and Tory scandals and voted labour in last time it was refreshing for about 5 minutes before Tony the tit started a war on a nation that had never been beaten not even by the British empire and Russians at there heights of power and that would start a chain of events that where obvious from the beginning doomed, Cool Britannia turned in to fool Britannia ..I won't list the catalog of disasters that followed as I think we are all aware but this is main reason is for me never again!! I started a business up in the last 5 years of there reign and it was stagnant to failing ,so in that respect I would never vote labour again I don't think any one who was self employed who wants to see there business grow would either ?? I genuinely admire Corbin, I am not sure he would go back to his roots and be trusted though ... I think if he was elected there would be a military coup anyway.
  4. Stolen saws are not broken for parts? Which I seriously doubt they are myself.
  5. We have a John Deere 2650 along side the valmet and it didn't have enough spools or flow I forget which.. maybe both to power the 360.
  6. Sounds like the perfect machine for you then! They are good and I can imagine the 400 is a bit better for arb waste ... I don't think anything is perfect for arb waste though unless every one is very disciplined in there cutting but the arb discipline is get it down and out and in the back of the truck with no thought at all for presenting the timber for processing later even with the best will it didn't seem to happen.
  7. Another thing is you have to have a tractor that is compatible to the machine which rules out a lot of older tractors.
  8. To be honest as long you could get it in the chamber it would cope with any thing , Round was better but it did cope with irregular fine , It was just making it fit the chamber which was the problem from memory. Easier with a crane and log deck but for your set up sounds like it would work well ... why not extract the timber in lengths instead of rings in the first place though?
  9. From memory the rings are better round because of the way it feeds them in on the conveyor, it's the way the machine works , they are an expensive machine as well .. in the right Wöod seriously quick but we got rid of ours for a bigger processor as you can chuck two /3 rings in to a processor and it also does not matter if they are irregular shaped, brought it with the intention of making arb waste a breeze but it didn't really unless it was the perfect size, we had the 360 the 400 is slightly larger but looks like an identical machine.
  10. Don't really see the point in them in unless your making kindling , you still have to load the rings and cut them by hand to load on the conveyor so any amount of time it saves is doubled with sawing and handling , plus they are limited to size of rings going to the infeed so rules out a lot of arb waste.
  11. I'd love to mate but not my vids or pics , one of them is from quite a prominent instagram American tree worker though. Good to know mark. 👍🏻
  12. Milk crate with a foam bottom.
  13. Just seen a load more pics and vids on instagram of rigging ring and pulley action ... it clearly shows two pulleys together with the pulley that goes to the bollard moving massively towards the lowering pulley , this looks like it's it's created a two to 1 advantage on the main weight bearing point and the more I think about it looks increasingly dangerous and a wonder more folk are not getting seriously hurt considering the current tree rigging trends..
  14. Sounds an interesting course are there any more soon?
  15. That's what you would think right ? The link that was put earlier in the thread I've stole some photos from and the link explains better but the stem on the right going to the bollard is taking most of the force, look how it stands upright in the last picture whilst the limb with the section being lowered has barely moved. So it not sharing the force maybe the weight but it looks like it doubles the load on the anchor ?
  16. No it's because I have unanswered questions about arb work because people are put off coming on this forum from reading your hatred and bile. I have my opinion on Islam and that was formed pre 911 from life experiences , if you feel that strongly go and join the peshmerga fight Isis and do some thing about it instead of turning an arb forum into preaching platform.. you automatically assume people are not capable of having opinions and that's fair enough it's a free country and why we stormed the beeches of Normandy.
  17. I don't think they mix well , I asked questions about rigging forces and so did others on another thread and no one replied ... any one with true knowledge of the subject and many others seem to dissociated them selves with the forum at a wild guess can you think why ? .. instead we have the usual people going around and around in circles trying to make the other side a bigger ****. The thing is with arborsite is no one with any knowledge uses it tree buzz is a far superior forum and arbtalk is starting to closely follow arborsite in its footsteps in my opinion.. It will just end up with matelot mull and a few others going around in circles over bollox debates with the occasional newbie question chucked in just like arborsite.
  18. My thoughts .....
  19. Yes but it appears on your unread posts and you fill inclined to read ... the next thing is your drawn in to an ugly debate of religion and politics, would be nice to have the option of not having it appear on the unread screen as this is not the reason I came here or payed for the app.
  20. That would make perfect sense then ! I have a large cherry log I've put off milling being so concerned over the last bit I did.
  21. It is the same people posting the same shite over and over again that has nothing at all to do with trees , if you look at the other threads the post count is down as this thread and others like it just puts people off from visiting the forum so I don't think that counts...
  22. Can we have a poll please to see if threads like this have a place in the forum ? Personally I don't think they do ,every ones life experience is going to be different and over all it has nothing to do with why we came here in the first place.
  23. yeah no doubt about it !as the ground crew where out the way and it broke out over the dz as I hoped if it did .. still surprised me it lasted as long as it did ! That's being under pressure though , this was the second tree of the day.. I was told the first only needed a branch off to get it to commit with the winch ..more like a good third ! Not a day I will forget any way
