  1. Its not the Euro. Thats a valuable currency. Its our £ that is weak. No one wants it so it has no value. Now we are technically printing money as well, it will probably get even lower. Good for export (If we actually made anything worth exporting) but bad for anything imported. Unfortunately thats about 95% of the goods we buy!!!!!!!!!
  2. Got offered this. £156.00 + transfer £80.00. Hard to refuse.
  3. 235MX Max wood diameter 230mm x 200mm (8") same as the 300.
  4. Prochip still exsist. Very much so in fact. Sales, service, repair and hire of all makes of arb equipment. Why may you ask do we no longer do Schliesing? Well the answer is simple. 28,150 euros for a 220 (235) and 24,890 for a 200MX ( + 1195.00 for a no-stress). With todays exchange rate of approx 1.10 you work it out. It takes £000's a year to distribute a product. With prices like that sales / returns were just not enough. They are good (prob the best European chipper in my view) but we are all in business for the same reason and we need to make profit to exist. Prochip continue to supply parts and service for Schliesing chippers and wish Overland all the best.
  5. Balmers @ Burnley 01282 453900
  6. Just the 2. ZX9R and XJR1300SP. (Pic 1) New exhaust and cleaning to the extreme (Pic 2) Yes, I know SAD!!!!!
  7. Last one I supplied. Mowi 400 with 360 rotator. grapple and full radio remote control. All mounted to a h/d 3 point linkage to take Schliesing 550ZX. £20,000.00 +VAT and 3 month waiting list. That was mid 08. With the £ so low against the Euro you could prob add 25% to that!!!!!
  8. If it was stolen why would it have any ID plates. I have seen plenty that are cloned and also seen plenty of copy ID plates with random serial no's on. Remember only stolen machines show up on plant registers etc. Best to check with TW, but as machines get older, owner details seldom get changed. For it's age looks tidy. Had money spent to. New style no-stress and new style control buttons. Worse case on the rotor as it will be a 3 piece one is about £500 (dealer repair) if the shafts are worn and fans broken, cheaper if not. Exhausts usually break where they are too thin to weld so allow about £100. If I was selling that chipper all serviced and ready for work it would be about £4k + vat. Serial number if anyone wants is available if you pm me. Last 2 digits are visible and date of manufacture so very easy to work out.
  9. Udderholme Chipper Steel. Used by most. It has a very high purity but nothing can be 100% perfect. Not sure on the xray bit. Have heard this but not sure. Blades are manufactured in batches so if it was tempering you would have a batch of blades breaking Have seen this happen before but the blades were tempered too soft so they just wore excessivley. If too hard they usually shatter not crack. The above is just my experience. I'm sure there are metalogists out there who may correct me.
  10. Funny how the manufactures / agents on here seem to blame the pattern blade. In my time I have seen many blades fail. Genuine, pattern, from all manufactures. Some failures you can explain. Metal ingress, foreign objects, but most we see are down to bad installation. Not cleaned properly etc. The most common is incorrect tightening of the bolts. Easy to miss one and not tighten properly if slightly distracted. Some you can't explain. Could simply be a fault in the steel. Can't see inside it can we. It is also not possible to test every single one. Another factor in this case is, could the blade of been dropped whilst it was being sharpened? The blade could also have been damaged hours ago. That initial damage may take along time to completely fail. It happens. In summary I don't know many people who have not had a blade fail in one way or another. Thats why I cringe when I see people in the back of trucks while the chipper is running or chipping.
  11. In the last 2 weeks we have had customers report 2 x Schliesing 550ZX stolen. 1 was attached to a John Deere6820. Thats a big tractor and chipper. It was on the railway a very long way from an exit/entrance and totally out of site!!! These chippers are not common, but still vanish without trace.
  12. But were they sharpened at the same time? Where are you? Who's chipper is it? Get the machine here or get the owner to give us a call and we will assist him.
  13. Check the blades have been sharpened at the correct angle. If not they push the wood backwards leading people to think its the feed rollers. The correct angle is 30 degrees and just being a couple out will make the machine act like it is. The 220 runs 210 bar of pressure at the rollers if you need to have them checked but I suspect its the blades. Regards Mike
  14. The regulator / rectifier is just below the ign switch if the engine has the ign switch attached to it. Photo is of TW125 with the same engine. The unit corrodes badly on the back and the terminals break. The unit is of poor quality new and only just provides enough power to charge the battery. Honda part number H31710-ZJ1-812. Call if you need any more help. Regards Mike
  15. I think I may be getting old, but I can't remember. Hang on. What was the question!!!!!!
  16. Errr!! Hyd pressure Entec CH25PH 150 Bar absolute max. Thats when it was new. Thor 10Ton petrol splitter for example runs at 260 Bar. Hyd system on the Entec is very simple and runs at very low temps due to very little back pressure in the system. Putting a log splitter on the same circuit will just destroy the pump and the oil very quickly. Entec uses Hyd type 32 oil. Most splitters use type 46. Thicker and better at higher temps. Put 46 in the Entec and you wont get the rollers to turn if the weathers cold. Don't get me wrong. It would work, just wouldn't be any good and very slow!!!!
  17. Training, machinery, wages when all you really have to do is unplug it!!! [ame] [/ame]
  18. In Jan 2007 a chipper retailing @ 20,000 Euro would retail at £12,905.00 (1.55). Today that 20,000 Euro machine would be £18,350.00 (1.09). Thats a £5,445.00 increase in exchange rates alone. Add to that price increases from manufactures etc and work it out for yourselves. Most dealers have swallowed a high % of this rise out of profits and many of you would be surprised at the profit margins being acheived in the current conditions. With hope the £ might recover in the future, but at the moment things don't look too promising. Economists are predicting exchange rates against the Euro to be at about 1.25 - 1.3 by the end of this years 3rd quarter and to stabilise at that rate for some time. This still makes the UK expensive for anything that has involved the Euro. Even UK manufactured equipment will suffer as most of the components used originate in the Eurozone. Tough times for everyone!!!!

Motorway riding. Just right for a puncture then. If your on the marks the tyre is thin. No point risking it on a bike. £120 quid now. How much time off work / lost money if you come off. Bike safe.
  20. Remember life is simple if you follow my one golden rule "Never exceed the maximum speed of the vehicle" Works for me. The stress relief is awesome. Kawasaki ZX9R for me. Speed / Sports but with that extra bit of comfort for my dainty figure:001_tongue:lol Enjoy road trips they are great. Bunch of us often hit the tarmac for the odd weekend. Olivers Mount in Scarborough is a favourite. Good racing and some awesome roads around there. Also get to go through Lincs on the way. The Fens are great. Sweeping wide roads with loads of visibility. Bikers heaven.
  21. The only shark Lee would catch in our waters would be if he hooked himself lol:001_tongue:
  22. Downside to that: It will also get stuck places other tracked units have never been before. Hope it has a long winch cable
  23. Not directly arb related, but those of you involved in landscaping would have no doubt heard of this company. A sign of the current times I'm afraid and I think many similar companies bigger and smaller could follow. http://www.landscapejuice.com/2008/12/blec-landscapin.html
