  1. Shot load? 1 ton, 2 ton, 20 ton? Most chippers will struggle to deal with this type of material once it has been heaped up. Saying that put it through that tub grinder and it will prob look the same when it came out. Smaller shredders will deal with it but it can be time comsuming. I think how you deal with it at the moment depending on the volume you have is the most efficient way.
  2. We can certainly look at assisting you. The lombardini turbo engine is known for this. The turbo usually falls to bits inside and for some reason fragments find their way into the engine which kills it. As for the rest of the machine that is relatively straight forward and all levels of work from just getting the machine running to a complete refurb can be discussed. Prochip 01449 770044. Regards Mike
  3. Orange TW Paint RAL 2006. This is a standard paint code that anyone will mix up for you. Regards Mike
  4. Might need modified wings to keep us flyin Ed. lol.
  5. Just 2 we've done recently. 400U 9" machine on Mog. Front axle went down 1" rear rose 2". Without anything on the back thought that was good for a 1 ton chipper. 550U also available @ 300kgs more. Second is a 550ZX 12" chipper on 140Hp Valmet. Safety bar removed for crane feeding. Neat little grapple with chainsaw in it.
  6. Wouldn't they love it if I won!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Gradually being replaced with these. Home Run.
  8. Every angle I watched it from it was a try. But there it wasn't and we can't change that. Good effort tho.
  9. Was my figure too high Pete?
  10. When we ran TW hire machines we found we got better blade wear with a flat ground blade. The hollow grind is more efficient when the blade is sharp but as Simon says this makes the blades edge weaker. Once damaged the blade wears much quicker. Again Simon is right when he mentions angles. You won't beleive the variants we get in. Bad economy as all you end up doing is sharpening twice as much blade away to correct the angle.
  11. Timberwolf = 500 (5" Hydraulic and above) prob 650 with other machines. Jensen = 350 Tunnissen / Kwik Chip = 65 JBM = 15/20 Schliesing / Premier = 137 Vermeer = 75 Greenmech = 170(UK) Even More Educated Guess. I guess 2 of the figures are right now with Hugoagogo's and my guess. You adding to this Pete B?
  12. Wilkie were the original importer and rebadged as Premier. 2006 saw Prochip selling them under their manufactured name of Schliesing alongside the Premier. As from Nov 2007 Prochip will be the sole UK distributor and all machines will be sold as Schliesing. See complete range @ http://www.schliesing.co.uk.
  13. Good points but not totally correct. Leads me to think tho. Of the following makes how many do you all think were sold in the UK last year. Will be interesting to see what the customer thinks. Timberwolf = Jensen = Tunnissen / Kwik Chip = JBM = Schliesing / Premier = Vermeer = Greenmech =
  14. Think I might be a bit biased. But I do have a very good indepth knowledge of both. 1 = Schliesing. Productivity on a 200MX vs TW150 is far greater. The wood may seem slower going through the machine (remember the internals on the 200MX only have to turn at half the speed of the TW150 to make the same ammount of full cuts) but the work required to prepare the wood for chipping is far less. The opening on the 200MX 240mm (9.5") wide x 165mm (6.5") high and the feed rollers operate at 210 bar (TW150 = 150 bar). On hawthorn / conifer etc we have done tests to show the 200MX can be up to 50% quicker. OK the TW will be quicker on a 6" piece of cordwood (due to the small rotor spinning very fast and quick no- stress) but who chips that all day long. With a machine that has a big heavy duty flywheel it is not possible to have a very fast reacting no-stress because it takes longer to get the rotor spinning again. This principal is the same throughout the range. If only others would partake in an official independent head to head test we could make our findings official. TW - Love Them. they can build as many as they like. Keeps our workshops busy!!!!!!
  15. Double A are a long established Entec / TW dealer and I know them all well. If they say the machine has been fully serviced I would believe them. Try to haggle on the price as it is slightly high. I would also try and push for a 12 month warranty on rotor bearings and rotor. Probably only get 6 months but worth a try. Regards Mike
  16. Sorry been on the road. Last 2004 we sold was at £7995 and that wsa from us with about 800 hrs. The main problem with the 190 is the bearings.Have seen these last 500 hrs but have also seen the go a 1000. You need to remove the drive belts (a major task in itself) and then put a big bar under rotor pulley to see if there is any movement. They go along time before they are noticable and design means they fret the rotor not the shaft. Problem is far worse on earlier machines as they had several attempts at getting the right hardness settings for the cast rotor. Not a huge problem because we will re machine the old rotor and resleeve (about £400 for removal, machining and refit). Most TW dealers will try to sell you a new rotor. About £1100 just for the disc. Check the feed rollers are parrellel too. Early 190's had nylon bushes which when grease channels get blocked wear away the metal roller insert. Again cheapest way to repair is machine and sleeve. Hope this helps. Mike
  17. from the top of my head mike,TD 05/06 20g turbo,800cc injectors, gruppe headers,3" full de-cat system, front mount intercooler, apexi power fc,AVC-R boost controller, uprated oil pump, uprated fuel pump, plus loads of other stuff that escapes me for now.i'll dig out the full spec and send it to ya. all i know is that it runs 1.7bar of boost and is a tad quick. You didn't mention brakes. Does it stop???????? With std brakes I'm alright for a bit but then they just dissapear. Tried harder pads but really need the upgrade to use full performance.
  18. Blue, What spec you running. Can see front intercooler. What other goodies? Next step for me will be along these lines. Currently run similar to their (Powerstation) stage 2 kit. Stage 4: IHI Twin Scroll Garrett Core Hybrid Turbo, 650cc Injectors, Large Inlet Hose, EcuTek Re-Map, Milltek Exhaust, K&N Filter ~400+bhp - £4249 + VAT Upgrade from Stage 2/3 - £2800 + VAT I'll be upgrading from the stage 2. First have to find some nice 18/19"" rims so I can fit the Porsche Brake kit, and still trying to source STI 6 speed gearbox. With a rebuild and right gearing should be able to top about 165 if I sacrifice a bit of 0 - 60 time. Strange but when i started with a 2.0 Wrx PPP I thought it was quick. 18 mths later the bills keep coming and I still want more speed. Always guaranteed to put a smile on your face tho and a look of terror on any passengers!!!
  19. The police are starting to use them in certain parts of the UK where car crime is bad. I wouldn't bother running with one chasing me!!!!
  20. My Toy. Last time on Dyno it was 324.6 hp and 305.7 lbs/ft at the wheels. Have kept the looks standard. 0-60 approx 4.5 secs and tops out at about 155 mph. Supercar performance. (almost)
  21. Standard 1 x 37 £5995 + vat, 1X37 with joystick hydraulic (Easy Model) controls £7780 + vat. New Greenspeed X42 model with lots of new features inc swinging discharge conveyor with full joystick hyd controls £9750 + vat. http://www.maaselankone.fi/ M Large in NI is main UK importer. His site lists all the dealers in the UK http://www.largetreeservices.co.uk/start.htm#
  22. http://www.autobloggreen.com/2007/05/10/new-london-low-emission-zone-goes-into-effect-in-february/ This fills alot of the gaps. We are doing several quotes at the mo for London comps which are thinking about going down the tractor, pto chipper and trailer route. After all how fast is the average travel speed in London.
  23. New 8" Road towable chipper. The best you can buy???? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/brand-new-8-tow-along-chipper-shredder-VATA_W0QQitemZ280158340764QQihZ018QQcategoryZ42228QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  24. Yes like I said. The low end user. Landscaper part time tree work etc. Anything under 10 hours a week and money would prob balance out.
