  12. Whatever you do, DON'T sharpen the spine. You'll be kicking out every time.
  13. You have to (using the hand on the opposite side of the ear you're plugging) pull the top of the ear UP and BACK, then push the plugs in as deep as you can and hold them in for 20 second or more to let them swell back up and become seated.
