  1. im in the second year of my foundation degree, though im not doing it online
  2. dave, the ivy was left on but has been cut at the base since the photo was taken hama, yes its tennis elbow and i suffer in both, think its a combination of skateboarding for over ten years in my teens and e\rly 20s and the fact i weigh nearly 15 stone that agrivates it
  3. easy little slickamore reduction(dam it was slippy and slimey) amoungst some other bits for me today on the river hamble for jim at special branch tree services. 65 mile round trip and very very wet gear, 3 pairs of gloves used and at one point i had 5 layers on, my brother was grounding and took a nasty slip and tumble down the muddy bank. the kelly kettle got another outing and raised spirits at tea break:thumbup1: on a positive note ive found a brace for my elbows that i can wear when im climbing thats really helped
  4. continue to do some teaching and start trying to do more survey work and some consultancy, id quite like another contract at a large forest home as well. need to start thinking about another vehicle to
  5. few pics of a hazard beam we removed today whilst deadwooding the 2 oaks in the picture, also a couple of my new kettle:thumbup1: apologies for the poor picture qaulity, im still getting to grips witha new camera
  6. except the sj, whch did everything with the minimum amount of modification
  7. it is much better, i will try and get a pic tomorrow if i remember
  8. yeah when ive tidied up a bit
  9. im afraid that you are wrong on that point
  10. im not aa aproved, have no wish to be but often quote against established aa firms and get the work, not through price as the differences are not tht much but through my own professionalism and customer skills
  11. the method i use for resuce is an alpine butterfly tied above the running bowline at the bottom of the tree, groundie then only has to clip their climbing system onto the alpine butterfly to lower you down, this is mainly because my access kine is only 50m long so there isnt enough rope to lower you through a grigri or similar
  12. i have a fig8 on my harness but il allways have my drt system in a rope bag clipped to my harness as im using it for works access, i have decended the single line before on the figure of 8 not backed up though:blushing:
  13. have you got a picture bob i tend not to worry to much about it to be honest, though another climber i know has his concerns about the elastic
  14. :sneaky2:its more of a small cabin actually:thumbup1: the workshop/shed out the window is from b&q yeah im pretty pleased with the set up at the moment, speaking to matt and chriss really helped that day at the show
  15. yep thats right mate, my first setup was anchored off the ring on the bridge, but this is much better, i was thinking about changing the sling(its actually spliced holow braid ) the other day. i hear what your saying about the ascender as well, and was thinking about trying it with another croll or even a rope grab type thinng as its only really there to advance the footloop and back up the croll
  16. i tend to take up my climbing line in another bag, srt as far as i can climb the last little bit to top anchor then drop my climbing line down in the bag. im sure someone else can give you more info but you have to be aware of the forces your srt anchor point is being subjected to
  17. this is my set up 11mm mammut power static access line petzle lefthand ascender(note: you do not actually hold the ascender you put your hand through the loop and hold the access line, using your hands is only really keeping you upright and to advance the footloop thats attached to it) croll(when you stop the croll holds your weight the krabs and short slings attach on the points to the left and right of your bridge if you are using the treemotion) the bit of elastic on the croll goes around your neck and kinda keeps it in position, variation on rupes inner tube idea which i used to use footloop pantin the ascender backs up the croll
  18. il put pics of an srt set up in a new thread
  19. its a coffee table mate:thumbup1:
  20. ive got a small cardboard old speckled hen christmas tree
