  2. to be honest i lack the self disapline to not go into college, i need the structure. was a big decision to make
  3. i thought about doing my fdsc online, but know what im like. so i opted to take 2 days off a week to go to college for it

  8. it was a little more than we could lift out with the prong, but we made good. to be honest i was glad to finish that job. belive it or not it took 3 days, luckily id priced it for that, if i priced it again id definately put another half day on it

  10. the build hes doing at the moment is over 2 years,its his only job and he stands to make no less than 250,000 from it.not bad for an old brickie. we were at the site today doing some deadwooding:thumbup1:

  12. yeah i know, i had to fell it at a daft hight(head hight) for the guy as he wanted a big seat carved out of it. we are working there in the next month or so, il have a look and see how much regrowth there is on it:lol:

  16. if the poop hit the fan it would be better and easier to cut the potentially 10m length of rope rather than messing around trying to cut 4inches of soft link close to my harrness
  17. umm why? the rope is as easy to cut as a soft link

  23. 1 up and down the vascular system 2 between the annual rings 3 between parenchyma(medullary rays) 4 after wounding the newest live tissue creates forms the 4th wall
  24. well thats basically the bare bones of it. different tissue boundries form reaction zones that produce chemical barriers that resist infection. the strength of the barriers depends on there location.
  25. dr alex shigo produced a model if you like,to explain how a tree has 4 walls of resistance to the entry of pathogens, the 1st wall being the weakest and the 4th being the strongest.the walls effectively create compartments to stop/trap the pathogen infection
