  1. no evidence of another pathogen, watched this tree for about 8 months prior to its removal
  2. took down this oak with spindleshank, the decay extended about 8ft up the stem, although the crown had poor form and displayed poor vigour(no more than than any other surpressed woodland oak), i was not prepared for the extent of decay i found, there was literally a pit below the stump
  3. yeah i do, putting an email together for him with the pics its a shame really that in soving the twisting problem another has been generated, but feedback is essential and tonys sound
  4. bought a new sawpod(i love them) at the aa show to replace my knacked one theyve changed the velcro to one that is more plasticy which seems to curl at the corners reduceing its effectiveness:thumbdown: added some longer velcro after having to mess around with it on friday more that a dozen times:thumbdown: the guy i was subbing to caught me ranting to myself in the tree, so decided something had to be done
  5. thats jims combi can, i was subbying to him for the day. i just got that blower about a week ago, jims got one as well so clean up is mega quick
  6. reductions from yester day, previously topped birches dont you just love em the larger tree on the right had had the central leader pruned out which made for an interesting climb in the wet, the crown was also about 20ft wide one way and 55ft the other. there not perfect but sometimes they are never going to be

  8. mines a single cab and i still stress out about how much chip it holds(mines not a tipper but i do have a alloy box)

  18. the problem is they lack weight over the rear axle, my b2500 will go where i want it to, i belive this is down to tyre choice and thinking about where im driving and dont think difflockers will make an exceptional difference. ps my sj will go everywhere and more a modded landy will

  22. id been thinking about replacing the ascender with another croll as well, as i find that the length of the ascender somtimes makes the system quite messy, like the idea of your second set up
  23. i tend to just stick in a 5th of a firelighter(cheating i know) and some kindling from the wood box chopped up smallish, dont be stingy with what your burning though, get it in there and get a good burn going
  24. got one last week, its very good, dont skimp on the wood. cant use it everywhere though
