  1. five minutes with a paint sprayer would sort that..
  2. I agree 100%
  3. So you think the area 30 miles down the road in general pay better, or is it in your case the company in question has a first class reputation and can charge more?
  4. What make you use or own? do you have a narrow access machine? do you have/use a big diesel grinder? If you have/use a stump grinder does it go out much? The reason I ask is I have 2 grinders and neither do that much work, and i'm thinking of selling one. If you don't own a grinder what do you do sub stumps out, hire in a machine or leave all grinding down to the client to organise?
  5. Still no pick-up here in Ipswich
  6. I don't think their is a big difference in regional rates, and running costs definatly aren't any different accross the country. Obviously firms running in London and the home counties charge a bit more. IMO the difference in pricing occurs between the small firm with 2 blokes and a Transit and the larger firms operating with a lot of kit, office ,industrial unit, and several men..
  7. Oh well if they hold a course down here I might well go, to be honest every course i've ever attended i've learnt things..
  8. You don't think my cousins 400HP Claas would pull it then?
  9. The question is what did you learn? not being funny but what is there to learn about TPO trees?
  10. I was pulled by a bod from the councils enviroment department, he told me point blank tree surgeons should have one
  11. I have one
  12. Nice job Burn a bit different from the norm..
  13. Stihl
  14. I agree with Ian
  15. so how about a platform on a chasis over 7.5 ton, do you need an o licence or hgv? well seeings as its classed as Plant! I wonder if a 4x4 chip truck, with hi-ab could be classed as forestry plant?
  16. find a ''good'' local saw shop and stay loyal, thats what I did, my saw man is fugging A1!
  17. Plans never work out in this game, I just plan from week to week..
  18. Hi Timber hey bro,we don't need no set time , members can chat anytime..
  19. Whats it like for vision, like most grinders it looks to me like a case of feel your way through the stump? How hard would it be to convert the whole machine, and grinder to remote control? only a thought... What do you think Ed for compact tractor users, mount the grinder on the 3 point linkage or front end loader?
  20. I'm busy right now and will be for the next 8 days, we're on a council street tree pollard fest..... But after that zilch! and the blower hasn't rung for over a week.... I'm not scare mongering, but I think next year will be a hard one, I think money will be very very tight..
  21. Its turned deadly quiet here in Suffolk! how about the rest of you guys? usually its flat out this time of year...
  22. Do any of you guys run or use a lorry with a digital taco? Are you using it? what software are you using to download your driver card DATA? or do you use a company to download the DATA for you? I have been told, if i'm not driving further than a 50k radius from my operating centre I don't need to use my taco or fill in a log book. But does this mean if you drive more than 50k's per day you should use your tacograph? I can't seem to get a clear answer to this question! Another thing i've been told if you use your digital taco then you must take the DATA off the driver card monthly and take the Data off of the digital tacograph every three months, though one bloke I know told me this should be yearly, can anyone clarify this? THIS COUNTRYS GONE H&S MAD,IMO ITS ALL ONE HUGE BLOODY TAX!....
  23. I'll be the first to buy one mate if you can also throw in a years worth of work to go with it... Seriously mate best of luck with your project, the skid mount grinder looks like a sure fire winner..
  24. too late I wouldn't part with a penny over 18k now...
