  1. Early next spring i'll be holding a free workshop regarding tree fertilizing, soil decompaction and Air-spade work . I'll be demonstrating my 'deep root fert rig' etc everyone is invited, i'll discuss how and when to fert, reasons for fertilizing, verticle mulching using the Air-spade, i'll explain about the products I use. I'll supply light refreshments, hot and cold drinks [maybe a few beers lol] I have a few venues in mind, but if any members have a suitable declining mature tree with plenty of accessable drip line and vehicle access, i'm all ears! Please put your name down if you're interested as places will be limited.. As soon as i've finalised a location i'll post it here with the date and time. Many thanks Lee Winger [Roller]

  6. My favorite saying usually comes with some sign language ''UP YOURS!''
  7. I've bought chippers and firewood processing equipment, hired chippers and had various machines repaired, by the 'two man outfit' and i've been very happy with their service!
  8. An independent arb consultants report is whats needed here imo
  9. What exactly are you going to learn about TPO's?
  10. I charge hundreds of thousands!..lol
  11. I'll bet compacted soils play a major part in the trees early decline..
  12. imo Shliesing chippers are the best on the market, hopefully one day I'll be owning a 9'' version
  13. BT lines, brand new valtra tractor rear window, cable tv, double glazed windows, chain link fencing, i've had a few incidents in the last 12 years of grinding..lol
  14. I've been saying for years we need another Arb trade organisation! all we need are a few like minded people to get it up and running.. I'm all for a guild/org that vets companys for quals and insurance and nothing more! a few of us came up with the ''Tree workers or contractors Guild'' or something very similer.. If we don't act fast the AA WILL push non members out of the commercial contract market! are we just going to sit back do nothing, and watch this happen?
  15. We speak the same lingo but to be honest Mangoes we're worlds apart, if we Brits thought like you Americans we'd be driving mini dodge rams and F150's etc.. We Europeans buy with our eyes first, look how sleek a European chipper is compared to an American chipper.. You guys from what I read don't go much on COE trucks and preffer a big hood, I can't put my finger on the reasons why we are so different, but we are. I agree with Pete , we also tend to buy whats more locally available, but saying that i'm sure you wouldn't have a problem with service or warrenty if you bought a Bandit, we see a few Vermeers about but not many, and Vermeer even brought out a 6'' model for the European market only..
  16. imo their not a good tool for domestic work..
  17. they have a small ad in the front now under trade orgs
  18. I like makita saws, they're a good price and quality German build...
  19. here's a landcruiser pick-up, I wonder why we can't get them over here http://www.bukkehave.com/Vehicles/Toyota.aspx
  20. The quickest way to blow a nice few quid is to buy a yank truck over here, they loose money hand over fist, I had a 90 Defender TD5, they ain't my cup of tea, once you've had Jap motors theres no going back.. I wish we could get commercial Toyota Landcruisers over here!
  21. If someone did that to me, i'm telling you they'd wish they hadn't, thats a down right dirty trick!
  22. Most firms have an excess, mine is the first £1500.. A new bloke of mine dropped a tree on a chainsaw of mine the other day, damage cost me £60, he got a good bollocking and I paid the damage.. The odd accident i'll deal with, constant equipment abuse or f-ups and the colprit will get the boot! .. Accidents in this game are inevitable imo, i'm a rather tolerant boss, I know how hard this job can be having been on the tools myself for a good number of years, a lot of bosses forget how hard this work can be, some have never ever done a good days graft and haven't got a clue..
  23. Cheers Tim
  24. Are stil a lantra trainer Ian, do you do chipper and grinder tickets?
