  1. Both, i've got an ifor williams 10x5 full of cones and signs, enough signs and cones to work a 200m stretch
  2. As an employer of both self employed, PAYE, and sub contract staff , I can tell you the contractor you are working for is responsable for all insurances period! As for experience, this is how I judge anyone freelance or whatever, if you tell me you want top doller because you can do this that and the other, then you turn up on a job and it turns out you're not all that I won't hire you again, obviously if you can do the walk and the talk you're in! If you're honest with me and tell me your limitations and don't demand the prices of the top climbers, i'll respect that and allocate you jobs you're competant to do safely... Honesty is the best policy, best of luck going freelance.. One other thing never let an employer push you beyond your capabilitys!
  3. so your saying don't give them your bank details? could this be a fraud of some kind? LOL
  4. nice to work for people like that
  5. I think there will be a shortage of turkeys this year, on the news tonight farmers were filling up 40 yard skips up with dead birds..
  6. if you're in the area pop in i'll save you the snout lol.. To tell the truth guys I usually get a free range turkey, this pig isn't working out much more expensive.
  7. I'll be cooking mine in the range oven, our one will be a bit smaller than he one in the picture at around 10kg...
  8. Call me a scaredy cat but with the local outbreak of bird flu just up the road i'm not having turkey this year, so i've just ordered one of these, I don't like turkey anyway, yum i'm looking forward to this
  9. Not imo, pre 2005 cabstars are the best small work horse period! I've had new transits, new and old cabstars, isuzus, mazdas, cargos,TK's, infact i've had god knows how many trucks over the years.. You'll never go wrong with a well looked after cabstar , yes cabs are tight and they're not good off road, but they carry the weight far better than a transit, and don't break down!
  10. What you using , how much are they, and where do you get them from...oh and are they any good? I reckon around 1.50 a pair for builders [not gripper they're cr@p] sounds about right for bulk purchases
  11. I'll never forget we were at a bbq/party and my huge half samoan and half moari mate Sean was wearing a lava lava, a traditional sarong type thing, a pi$$ed Aussie bloke called it a skirt... oh dear lol
  12. I joined an all moari and samoan rugby club at 6'1'' and 13 stone I was the smallest bloke there, I went to hungis [big feasts] with them too I got on really well with them, but I can understand what Aussie is saying..
  13. Been on to the AA today and no way does the course they run qualify you to carry out bat surveys. Bugger!
  14. I've been on the phone today to a bat expert and bat surveyer, he told me you should be defra licenced to be taken seriously! becoming a licenced can take a year of training with another bat expert. Without the licence your survey will not be taken seriously by local authoritys, and its local authoritys who ask for them in the first place.
  15. Very true!
  16. I agree 100%, but when we are not financialy rewarded for being ''proffesional'' and the rogues go through life without any fear of prosecution it all seems a waste of time..
  17. I haven't got a problem Carl with other nationalitys as such, hell i'm a mixed breed myself, but surely this country is at full capacity? instead of getting more eastern europeans into the country , we should get the long term dole bludgers to work or stop feeding them!
  18. A few years back i'd blow up and be on the verge of thrashing someone if they gave me the run a round, I worked for a proper nut job last year he and his neighbour claimed I broke up a portion of garden edging and took it away 'it wasn't their in the first place'' and thats no joke! he also went beserk because I move 6 railways sleepers 2' to the left to get my grinder into the garden, he said he had them all stacked up ready to lay them. They took weeks to pay In the end I had to send my wife to his house to collect payment, other wise I could very well be typing this in Norwich prison!
  19. Eastern Europeans are no better, they look at you like you're scum. Happy diwalli
  20. Can anyone tell me what the requirements are for this, I read there was some kind of licence you must obtain to carry out this type of work? Do any of you carry out bat surveys, if you do can you tell us all whats involved.
  21. Good to read you're passionate about your product Pete! that goes a long way with me.
  22. Just been outside for a fag and i've been thinking how i'd be rather night fishing on some warm Aussie beach, rather than taking my son fishing to the local ditch in the freezing cold, fishing for something I can't even eat lol, like I am tomorrow
  23. I've never had to that route, but I did get a letter a few years back from a local licenced debt collections company offering me their services, i'll send you their details if you like..
