  1. I would never plant directly where the stump was
  2. Hi to all new members
  3. Lee Winger

    Kooch!!

Please put threads in their proper forums please guys.I have had to move several threads in the last few days. Thanks roller
  4. Don't know what you guys think , but I think todays bars are a lot easier to bend than say bars of 10 years ago, modern bars feel so light to me, they seem to wear quicker as well. I would through out banana bars If I wear you treediver
  5. I have a third makita saw i wasn't going to mention it, yep its a topper forget it utter rubbish..
  6. What about any equipment sales? i've only got a small amount on tick, like you heres to zero finance... What do you think about the economy next year Ed?
  7. oh well I stand corrected, but I bet its not the first tree you've used a mallet on? experience thats what you need with a rubber mallet
  8. I've got two a DCS500 great little saw and a DCS7900 both equally as well made and reliable as Stihl and Husky, i'll be getting more for sure.
  9. Congrats, can't wait to see her all painted up
  10. yep i'd go with salmon, what a picture i'd send that off to Countryfile next year for sure..
  11. So what will next year hold for us then? anyone got a crystalball? I think we're going to be in for a lean year to be honest! if the end of this year was anything to go by. What plans have you got? i'm planning on better storage for my kit, i'm not sure if to go with a few new large sheds or just get a container, i've converted a room in my house to an office at last. I'm also, to my wifes delight going to sell kit that simply doesn't go to work, knackered kit is off too. Hopefully by mid January my new website should be up and running. Its amazing how time consuming it is putting a website together. I'm thinking about knocking firewood on the head next year, too much agro for not enough reward imo, firewood is good if its a big part of your biz and you have a proccesser and only split cord wood, turning arb waste into firewood is a nightmare. We might develop a few acres of land I own into a nursery, but i'm not sure, i'll need to do some number crunching to see if its viable, no point throwing good money down the drain, not forgetting all the hard work involved. Other than that 2008 will be the same old same as, I guess. What plans have you guys got?
  12. I like mewps for take downs, but thats it, I can't see how anyone can carry out a reduction from one. Nice kit though
  13. Anyone who says a canter isn't that much cop is away with the fairys, the build quality is far better than a transit. Transits just do not carry a load well, me,my cousins and other relatives have had every commercial on the market, the only good thing about a trasnny is they are comfortable, I had a new one it broke down on the way home from the ford agent, it went in that many times I got shot of it in less than a year.
  14. Cabstars are a tad ugley but the look of the little workhorse will grow on you i've had 2 and a small Isuzu they can't be beat! I know a builder who bought 2 at once , he worked them to death they lasted for 12 years, i'm 6'1'' and never found them that uncomfortable
  15. The new one is an improvement, but too bloody expensive. I might go for an Iveco Eurocargo. Make sure you get your O license first, if you get caught using a lorry with no operators you will never get one
  16. Rubber hammers are ok , but not good unless the tree is actualy hollow, hollow trees are fairly rare going on my surveying experience, you're much more likely to find a tree in the proccess of decay. There are no non invasive decay detectors on the market as far as I know, even the picus is classed as invasive.
  17. Why not use a resistograph? much cheaper service and much more accurate. Iv'e been using one for years, nothing but great results, Tomographs aren't all that if you ask me , i've seen some shockingly inccorect scans from the Picus.
  18. another pic
  19. don't ask me why but aparently your supposed to put a garland of water cress around its neck, our chappie had a garland of salad bag instead lol
  20. The piglet tunred out ok no dramas, mind you we had a tin of corned beef just in case...LOL It was ok but I won't be having another.
  21. HAHA theirs got to be a joke in their somewhere lol
  22. no not a transit!!!!!
  23. I had the same Nissan truck as Tockmal a cousin had a hi-lux, Nissans are better trucks imo, but not that much better,Jap trucks take some beating! i'm on my 5th nissan, I love em.. I currently drive a Nissan Pathfinder
  24. Good Idea, i've witnessed lots of tools ruined or beaten up in the back of a truck. I'm suprised we don't see more purpoose only tool carrier trucks in this game.. Nothing worse than putting a new saw or tool in the back of an empty tipper, i've done it plenty of times,.The best thing on my new truck is the tool box by far.
