  1. Same as any 2nd hand kit mate, check for abuse, open her up and have a good look around. Look for dents in the feed hooper as you'd be amazed how many people crane feed PTO chippers. The most expensive bits to deal with are the hydrulic motors which can be damaged through abuse. TBH though if it looks clean and tidy on the outside it's probably replicated on the inside....
  2. Very good chippers, don't discount the TP range either.
  3. Who's tongue in who's cheek lol
  4. Why oh why why why did you tell her how much you spent !!!!!!
  5. What makes me laugh is companies who have travelled along way to a show and most of the staff are all wearing chainsaw trousers in the middle of summer etc...muppets. In reply to Andy...yes a needle and thread is the simple answer in many cases.

  22. No do carry on as it has relevance to this thread, just quantify your experiences i.e were you an employee of a sub contractor or was it your own company etc.
  23. I had an old wessex hydrulic one one that sat on my 3 point linkage. The only problems were i had to bungy the spool valve lever open as it used to pop back to centre after a few minutes running when the oil had got warm. Also the mog linkage didn't drop quite low enough (even adjusted) to get it on and off easily so i allways had to have it sitting on a couple of 8" logs. I also only ever used to let the lads run the mog for 30 mins at a time before giving it a break as you only just need it on idle.
  24. Darren Mitchell Advanced Tree Services, Woking. Dryad - Colin Dry, Guildford. PA Searle - Paul Searle, Camberley.
  25. Trouble is they'll end up with muppets doing the work or one of the big facillities managment companies doing it and the little man won't get a look in. It's almost as if they plan it this way
