  1. Ok Mick, if I get a bit of spare time I'll carve you one ;-)
  2. Fair enough guys. Seems like the consensus is on Nod. I'll contact him then.
  3. Sure thing, I was testing the waters to see if there was anybody closer to home
  4. Anyone interested in sharing some knowledge near Brighton? I have never spliced but would love to learn some. If anyone is interested in running a paid workshop I'm sure I can gather a few interested people and a venue. Or if you fancy a more informal chat and show I'd also be well up for it. All the best p.
  5. Mick, the point was I was trying to avoid having to carve!! ;-)
  6. Ash, sorry I didn't see your message until now. Yes, I am working with Ed quite a bit, he's doing good and seems very busy. Brighton & Hove council has started passing a fair bit of work to him. How are you doing mate? Keeping busy yourself?
  7. checked all websites and didn't think of calling.. maybe i'll have to delete this thread in shame.
  8. Hello fellas, dropped my silky last week while up a tree and the fairies took it away. Impossible to find on my way down. Now, I have a new blade and the scabbard ain't that old but apparently I can't just buy a handle from Silky or any of their suppliers. Anyone has a spare silky gomtaro handle kicking around the workshop? I can even get the red bolts but nobody will supply just the rubbery bit.. btw I know about the gaffer tape handle or the diy one carved out of wood, but really I'm looking for something a little more practical and professional looking ;-P P.
  9. Based in Brighton but happy to travel commutable distances. PM sent
  10. Updated CV to include some rigging work I've been involved with (not really arboriculture related, but interesting to me nonetheless). Links to the work: Millimetre. Prism Keiichi Matsuda. Prism by Keiichi Matsuda at V&A for London Design Festival Millimetre Big 4 El Anatsui. Millimetre. Big 4 Stephanie Imbeau. Millimetre. Big 4 Tony Heaton. Millimetre. A Room for London. (check out the video) Also, still looking for interesting opportunities around my area. If you need a freelancer for a few days here and there or for a reliable person to fill a permanent position please do not hesitate in contacting me. Pietro Pavese CV.pdf
  11. Marc: Thank you for the encouragement. I'll keep at it till I find something suitable. Kev: Response sent. Sciadopitys: check, check, check. All done. Thank you for the heads up though.
  12. bump really? nothing? not one comment, a response, a word of encouragement, nothing?? come on guys, there must be someone amongst you lot that can give a heads up for something interesting..
  13. Hello, my name is Pietro and I am an Italian born Arborist looking for a permanent position. I have lived in the United Kingdom for nearly 14 years and feel this is now my home. I have trained at Plumpton College, where I completed a 12 weeks Certificate in Arboriculture in 2005 to then progress to a FdSc Forestry & Woodland Management. I then finished my formal training at Brighton University where I obtained a 2:1 honours degree in Ecology & Biogeography in 2009. Having a young family I am now seeking permanent employment. I have a strong work ethic and a keen interest in Arboriculture. I would like to work for a company which values my commitment, and where there is potential for me to grow professionally. My goal at the moment is to develop my skills as a climbing Tree Surgeon. I have attached my Curriculum Vitæ for consideration. Please do not hesitate in contacting me if you have a vacancy in your company and feel I could be the right candidate to fill the post. I am also interested in subcontracting work if this is all that is available at the moment. Thank you for your time. Best regards, Pietro Pavese
