  1. Its all he ever does Ed that and play with his toy chainsaw!
  2. haven't got three pics to hand so one will have to do!
  3. Bill I have a large heap of timber feel free to come down here and show off your talents, matching a splitter on one tranny load is ok, but its only commercially viable to use an axe if you can match the splitter all day.
  4. good job I wasn't offering to post them here innit
  5. Morning mate, don't need to email to you if you have the book, I'll give you a ring again soon, hopefully when you got a signal!
  6. Tis you are right its just not really a diy option and isn't very cost/speed efficent on large seems
  7. It certainly does! I used to work for a firm that made a couple of bodies for PeteB and I had ago when they were set up for welding the ali floor, I just ended up with a molten blob on the bench!
  8. I had ago with ali welding once, you do tend to have to weld like the clappers, you can't hang around as much as you can with steel.
  9. If you have ever driven a land rover with a roofrack and solid floor into a gale, you'd notice the steering goes light! I learnt form experiance. You'd get the same effect with an empty chip box, the window may act as an exhaust but will also give the chip a route straight out the back and all over the cab and road, giving even more clearing up. And yep slipstreaming wagons gives great fuel economy:drunk:
  10. I wouldn't mesh a front window as into a head wind of a decent strength running empty the front end will feel light. I think however you construct it you need the slope to be gradual from just below the cab roof level.
  11. I don't know if my rubbish sketch will show on here but how about changing the profile of your chip box so its more like the red line rather than the blue.
  12. I agree! London planes are very popular in the town I live as street trees however they are maintained as pollards which is a shame.
  13. And a grid ref if you are not in a built up area!
  14. A good fabricator could easily build what you want, at a cost though! Ali is flippin expensive at the moment. I'd also consider mounting your beacon directly to your roof and perhaps have a second ontop of chip box so you can loose that very high roof bar that will drag way more than you think.
  15. It is so sad. I agree having done a fair few first aid courses and seen a couple of accidents that really if a climber hits an artery with a saw if they can't get themselves down in seconds its sad to say they have little chance of living long enough to be rescued.
  16. Well my employer paid for me to do the B+E trailer test so I can now drive a land rover and trailer outfit grossing 7 tons, yet I can't drive a 7.5 tonner?! which can be shorter and able to stop much quicker! its a crazy world!
  17. Lol the licence not the driver! the driver must be prehistoric to hold an old licence LOL!:wave:
  18. I don't know who you have in mind as the other drivers, Just bare in mind that anyone who passed their cat B car test after 1/1/1997 is limited to a vehicle of 3500kgs gross. So if it was me I'd aim at bigger wagon and if need train the right person to be the second driver. Unless of course your employees have the older style licence with C1 7.5tonner already on them. Then it may make more sense to have the smaller one.
  19. I have a puney 8ton single blade splitter but can fill the ifor 8'x4'x4' high in an hour and a quarter. I couldn't do that with an axe! Oh and I certainly couldn't do it 3 times in one day with an axe!
  20. Oh trust me Adam you can! If I had endless pots of money I'd have niether a mog or a Landy! LOL. Its like everything horses for courses you will never get everyone to agree a mog is the ultimate arb vehicle!
  21. I can't belive they were not posted befor! I've had the greatest hits in the LR for two weeks and havent had the radio on at all!
  22. I run 15" on my 260 an 18" is to big go for the 361 if you want to drag 18 all day
  23. Impossible to tell from those pics, how steep the bank is.
  24. Glad your sorted!
