  1. No problems with mine, had it over a year now. Hopefully yours is an isolated case and they will get it sorted soon, sounds frustrating.
  2. Engine sounds a bit crap.
  3. Yes, if its not on the Ropetek website then email them.
  4. QB is good, but really pricey for what it is. I use EasyBooks, but its Mac only.
  5. I can sort you out a 9 tonne(s) load of unseasoned unprocessed, delivered to you price depending on location. PM or ring if your interested 07875 386674 Peter
  6. Like any investment in kit, you have to weigh up time saved v cost. If it only takes 2 minutes to unload by hand then you are unlikely to recoup your outlay in the working life of the tipper conversion. I'm glad the days of shovelling chip are over for me, will probably extend my working life too as shovelling really makes my back ache!
  7. Just out of interest, how many tirfors do you keep in your climbing bag? Lots of tree gear is built from components already available, GRCS, most harnesses, ropes, carabiners, trango cinch, all borrowed from other industries. This is starting to change as Arb becomes a bigger market in its own right, but until there is a market for many thousands of a particular item it won't be built from scratch.
  8. I'll make sure I bring an indelible marker pen. Would you prefer handlebar or toothbrush?
  9. Save me a seat at the back.
  10. I do a fair bit of composting wood chip in my garden. All the above info is excellent, the only thing I would add is that you need lignin (woody stuff) to make humus, the rich dark part of the soil that plants love. Lignin needs lots of nitrogen to feed the bacteria to break it down, so adding green (grass clippings etc) or artificial nitrogen fertiliser is a must. You can easily check the pH of your mulch before you use it, if you want to bring it up a bit add garden lime.
  11. Yup. Josh introduced us to the Chung Hwa, for which we are eternally grateful!
  12. Plus there is an excellent Chinese takeaway!
  13. Samson splicing manual, buy the book or free PDF downloads from the Samson website. Plenty of vids on YouTube if you need some visual aids. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  14. Treeworker. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  15. I think he's just gloating. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  16. Good stuff, how old do you reckon it is? Always thought of them as being fairly slow growing.
  17. Not a fan of the L200, tiny load space on the standard model, ridiculous overhang on the extended bed model, plasticky, bits of trim tend to fall off, reliability issues with trucks that are worked hard. Personally dont find it comfortable, seat is too low to the floor for my liking. Test drove the D-Max, took it round an off road driving course, very impressive and everyone I have spoken to really rates it. Too new really to comment on reliability but Isuzu generally have a good reputation for reliability and service.

    Arb radios

I use a bluetooth system, totally secure as they have to be paired, so no risk of cross chatter.
  19. Good stuff, are you looking for a full time position or freelancing? Have you got somewhere to live sorted out? And if so what area?
  20. Ian is a good bloke, you won't go wrong with him.
  21. Interesting job, and fine picture set.
  22. Call that a full load? There is still room for a stack of cones on the bucket rest!
  23. I can do that if you brought it up one weekend, let me know if you want a quote.
  24. Got to be worth a try. Just looked on the VOSA website, and they say you can downplate to change VED bracket, with no modifications, but to downplate for driver licensing reasons you need to modify the vehicle, which doesnt really make any sense either. I would fill the form in and see what happens, for £28 you cant really go wrong.
  25. Think you been conned there Ben, downplating doesn't involve any modification to the vehicle, down rating on the other hand does. You do have to show that the new plated weight is greater then the unladen weight.
