  1. Found a nice Red Chilli chalk bag today suitable for my 5m Tachyon lanyard and less than a lady.
  2. Yeah that splice gotta proper beating, I'm hoping to make the workshop, I would like to pick their brains.
  3. Fantastic tree, you are lucky to have the chance of climbing her.
  4. That one took the skin from my hands, I should have made the eye a little bigger, the smaller eye really made it difficult.
  5. Longleat house, nice.
  6. Here you go, these are my two personal Tachyon splices Ive done, I actually managed to stick my spike into my climbing line splice this week.
  7. As long as he knows about the inner core I would go with him Rich, Tachyon is a double braid with an extra inner core that has to be tapered as well. I won't charge for the splice however because the shipping from the smoke to Brizzel would be quite pricey.
  8. Hey it could have been worse, at least it was at the end of the rope.
  9. I would do it for you but I would have to say that you wouldn't be able to use the spliced eye for a climbing attachment.
  10. Who with mate?
  11. I am being ripped.
  12. Public liability 10 million, Employers liability 5 million John.
  13. I am paying over three hundred quid a month for my employers liability and public liability is this good value?
  14. Yes STS, Kev is right. I hope your boss will pay for your LOLER course, for one thing you will gain by learning something that you can then share with your boss and work mates, you will also be able to keep a hands on, check of equipment, everyday, unlike an external inspector. Your boss will also save money in the end.
  15. Nice one, I would like to see you climb single line in the flesh, as it were, that way I could get a better idea of the advantages.
  16. I really can't understand why this thread has got to the level it has, I must be missing something? This guy asked a pretty normal question and got jumped on, why was that?
  17. I have never had an anchor point break on me, just waiting for it to happen, cut one once but not broken one. Glad you are OK and have some lovely Codeine.
  18. Yes I have a couple but not the right length or strength for the gnarly chunk that got away, cutting slots is the best option imo for that particular tree although I could be wrong.
  19. Cutting grooves in the wood like you have is what stopped me losing the rest of the lumps I cut out today. The lump that got away I had spent about 15 mins setting and dressing as soon as it swung into the stem it baled.
  20. 19mm is heavy and is no good for my new RC-2000, must get a 13mm.
  21. Double esterlon, me thinks.
  22. Rich, gloves are very good, can last only a day though on something with a lot of climbing, there OK in the cold but last week I was having to warm my fingers with the exhaust emissions. I think Peter gave me this link...http://www.505uk.com/index.php?category=Gloves&group=Latex&Submit=select_group Mossa, yes the whole lot is being cut and split on site.
  23. Started this Ash Monday, tall, stretched out, really found it hard work after my long Christmas break, anyway back through the snow to day to finish off, lost one bit off the rope, lost a few unroped chunks in the river, (very steep slope) so decided to fall the remaining stick, aimed for the fire and hit it dead on.
  24. I love a Parquet floor.
  25. Thanks Nod.
