  1. Timed with military precision Frosty
  2. Ok following my flippant post at the beginning, I don't really know the answer. I don't know about destiny, or written in the stars or any of that. I know that when I was I'll, I had to make a choice, I could chuck it all in here and then, and get a "proper" job, or I could push on and use the "force" to motivate me back to health and back "in the saddle". The easy option was to get out, use the system, maybe get a job in Lidl or Tescos, sod that!! Marks point is a good one, I didn't wish to become one of those people who "used" to do tree work either.
  3. Thanks to all those who pm'ed me, the first man to respond got the job. Nice one Silky, see you Tuesday
  4. Welcome aboard Paul see you Tuesday
  5. I messed about in school, a job on the bins needed an E grade CSE.
  6. Good deals on Liverpool street to stow market on train line.com if you book quickly. Go Off Peak, for travelling in the morning, makes no odds to me, as I'm crap at early starts
  7. Haha it's ok, lesson to everyone there to read the print.
  8. FAIL... The post says PM if interested Pm me your day rate and contact detail Paul
  9. Mid Suffolk area, must be ticketed, competent, polite and courteous, tolerant of an old misery like me, for one days work early part next week (beginning 27/8/12) it'll be job and knock, I pay decent money for the day. Pm if interested please.
  10. I would have thought the boots should comply still, can't see an issue, so long as they have a toe cap and contain blocking material to the standard you quote. But why would you choose to wear wellies when there are some reasonably priced chainsaw boots on the Market?
  11. I've got a cheap set of bib/brace chainsaw trousers that I've worn once, I'm 6foot 3 and theyre fine, they're a waist 34" and I'm now a 38" waist!! If they're any use pm me perhaps we can come to some sort of deal on price. I bought them when I was seriously I'll so I could still do a bit, now I've recovered I have a little more bulk on my frame.
  12. Lavenham, Suffolk CO10 9PE. I googled it for you
  13. Why not have a load of mates around, all crack into it then have a BBQ party in the evening to repay them?
  14. On the whole quite good, a few little points that others have picked up on. One point with the communication, it's hard to see on camera where the ground crew are from aloft, and you bombed out a couple of handhelds without warning, but you may have known exactly where everyone was that the camera didnt show. Also, was I mistaken or was the lowering done above the GRCS, I did think I glimpsed the groundie working directly under the lowered load? But I haven't replayed it yet so I can't be sure.
  15. This thread is a fine example of what I've been trying to get people to do...use the forum!! I've mentioned vid CVs, but simple picture CVs work as this thread has proven. A little initiative backed up with real enthusiasm will get anyone a long way. Nice thread, good to see people helping each other out for mutual benefit, and above all this thread shoukd serve as inspiration to all those who "can't find any work" it's out there...get off your asses, on your bike, a train a bus or walk to find it. If there was a Thread of the Month award, this one would be my nomination for August:thumbup:
  16. Easy ton feel sorry for yourself, but at least you still have a good arm. No need to let a little thing like that stop you. Of course you can have down days, they make the good days feel even better
  17. Oh dear it seems I may not make the forecasted recovery I anticipated, such a shame as I would have once again been able to pay tax. Never mind that's life. Ooooooo my back!
  18. 3days off and you're bored??? Gen up on pest and diseases, or fungi, or tree ident, for starters, there always something to learn.
  19. Nice one Silky, there's a quite a few people in this world who could learn from your example! You're quite an inspiration
  20. It's summer, it's been hot.... I just don't care.
  21. I like a lively forum, and disagreeing, and then agreeing, then changing my mind, then changing it back again. Like most of the original members here, I rarely miss a day on the forum, this is simply cos it's so vibrant and lively every day. Other forums I visit havent had a reply in days or weeks.....tedious. It's also more fun for me as a mod, it gives me something to snigger at when I'm trawling through endless boring sensible stuff, to suddenly find something kicking off is like Hamma finding a new toadstool. Keep it up, keep it clean
  22. Someone else's?
  23. Darwins theory should weed em out a bit
  24. for pity's sake....do you live in my local town... No....do you shop in my local shops....no.....does this mean I was talking about you.....no.....am I calling you a Pleb....no.... If you went to my local town you would see what I mean...the dross of humanity crammed into a hole of a town that should have been carpet bombed.... Twice.
